Notifications not clearing

For the past week or two, I have had a notification that someone has left a visitor message on my wall. No matter what I do, I can't clear that notification. It's really starting to annoy me. Is there a fix?

I have deleted two VMs dated July 12th that I believe were causing the issue. Let me know if that's cleared it.
