When I do the VC reviews, I have a link that says "discuss this at the forums"... so while copying and pasting the links, I've noticed a trend... TBT gets roughly 100 topics a week... which is roughly 15 topics a day.

Not bad, I guess, but maybe time to ramp it up? D: I've noticed that a lot of people mostly post, instead of making topics.

That's been like the ever since I've joined. Like someone said, the members have matured, the forums haven't.

That obviously should change soon. D=

Well, what exactly do you mean by "matured"? Are you talking about the AC theme?

I mean... most of our posts aren't even AC-related. It's just a shortage of topics... but not of posts, which I find a little strange.

Well its not like we have so many members...
Uhm, we have a very decent amount in fact. Our amount of members is very underrated, I think... especially when you consider the rest of the internet. I mean, it's not often you find even a remotely successful community.

Well I mean like there aren't really many discussions that are actually good discussions. A better word might be serious discussions.

Do you get what I mean?

Not really. In fact, I've noticed an improvement lately, all things considered.

And hey -- if anyone wants serious discussion... and if the members have "matured"... why isn't anyone making said threads? D:

It's what puzzles me. Not many threads get made, but a lot of posts are being made. Weird.

Not exactly. The site traffic actually does get much attention. Besides the amount of threads has nothing to do with that. Every forum is like that.

@ Bul I do agree, it's somewhat mind boggling...

Uhm, even though a jump in the Alexa ranks was due to some people using the Alexa.com toolbar, I don't think it got that high because of low traffic.

I'm not an very active Member so I don't have much "insight"...but I would venture to say Quantity and Quality are inverse relationships in most cases. In the case of The Bell Tree....it's a direct relationship. There really isn't a quantity factor with the forums here (case in point...the same people are posting in here when I first joined) and well...Quality tends to lack when the SAME people are talking about things....just gets old.

It's also much easier to respond to something rather than put .02 cents into a coherent thought and post a new topic

:)

I used to make tons of threads, however half of them received fewer than 3 posts, so I don't care to post my own topics anymore.
