Ever had a dreamies move in, to find you just don't click with them? This happened to me with Julian, I was so so excited when his plot set up, I loved his design and his house everything seemed perfect - until I realised I hated talking to him, the excitement I have in sending my dreamies letters and presents wasn't happening with him and I found myself skipping him in the letter rounds very early on. When he decided to move on, I let him go. I guess some friendships just don't work out, no matter how much you want them to!

On the flip side, when Lily moved in I really didn't like her, but as I made my obligatory daily conversations with her in an effort to make her move faster, she grew on me and is now a permanent resident of my town and listed among my "dreamies". I'll never let her go!

Same here.
Sometimes some unattractive animals moved in and I wanted them to go so badly. I started to like them while they are staying. When they wanted to move out ,I was supposed to be happy but I don't want them to leave after that, ha!

I know!! Maple was a dreamy of mine for a long time so I was so excited to see her in my campsite and now that she's here I'm just... empty lol I'm not excited the way I was when I got other dreamies. She's also in the way (visually she isn't but apparently she's too close) of a location for one of my bridges I want to put in, so... I'm super disappointed :/

Rudy was a villager that originally I didn't care if he stayed or left but I think he's been in my town since the very beginning or close to the very beginning and he's one of my favourites and I couldn't imagine him leaving!

Not really with movers but I had Nate the lazy bear in my town since the start and I really, really wanted him to go - days passed and he was still in my town so I started to talk to him from time to time then once I noticed he was in conversation with other villager and he started to cry, because his ice cream melted - it was so adorable and cute that I couldn't help but fall in love with him and ever since I talked to him more and more and now he's one of my dreamies :D As for popular guys from tier 1-2.. I think I'm total opposite of most people, as "top-tiers" do nothing for me and most of my dreamies are from 4/5th tier ;)

I got Bangle from the campsite and she was one of my dreamies but I just??? don't click with her that much. Which is strange because I have Pippy in the same town and we get along really well.

Also in my second town I had Jeremiah move in out of nowhere and at first I was really mad because he plotted right next to the bulletin board but he's really cute and I feel I can make his house work now :3

The same happenned with Marshal, I find him the most adorable looking animal and he's sometimes really interestring to talk to but he repeats A LOT what he says.. I find him kinda bland.. But I still love him though :)

I had Rosie for a time. And she was just the cutest thing! But we just didn't get along :( I had Bangle and eventually Flora at one point, and we clicked instantly. I just don't know why.

I probably have this with all of my villagers. I got so fixated on collecting all of them that I never kept an empty spot for random move-ins. Most of them were friends from past games and the rest were ones that I have spent time with in old towns.

I guess I got used to all their limited dialogue and faces that I forgot what it was to experience new villagers. But this happening to all of my dreamies is weird, the only ones I haven't found that plain were Punchy, Bill and Lobo and I'm getting a bit tired every few days.

Sometimes surprise villagers you haven't spent so much time thinking about are opportunities to find a better dreamie. :)

I'm pretty sad cuz this has happened to me twice.

First time it happened with Rosie. I originally fell in love with her character due to the Animal Crossing movie, only to find that I didn't like her all too much when I actually had her in my town. When it came down to someone selling another villager that I really wanted, I ended up boxing her up and sending her on her way, and I really don't regret it. Ruby is the superior peppy imo.

And now I'm having this with Coco. I thought I'd really like that whole creepy and hollow look to her, paired with a cute normal personality, but I just haven't clicked with her at all. I'm less pleased by her creepy aspect than I thought I'd be (I found her being creepy really cute in things like artwork and what not) and I just find her to be pretty boring, especially in comparison to my favorite normal villager, Poppy. Basically, if she were to ping to want to move out, I'd let her pretty easily.

Happened with me and Blanche really early on in my game. Thought I'd love her but we never clicked! I was pretty disappointed but Flora is a more fun Ostrich (ahem Flamingo) for me to have in town and I adore her!

I also thought that Molly would just live in my town a while and then move on, but the minute she moved in (plotting perfectly on the first try mind you!) I was gobsmacked by how cute she was and I knew she was never leaving, and I ended up letting Tia go instead!

I feel like it always takes me a lot of time to get really attached to a new villager no matter how much I admired them before. Stitches moved into my town recently and I totally love him but if I had to pick between him or one of my less popular villagers that I got by happenstance I would choose Agent S/Peck/Goose/Canberra over him in an instant. I'm already getting more fond of him though as I see that cute little face running around town so I'm sure we'll be great friends soon enough. :)

Sterling isn't very interesting, I like his design and I've wanted him for a while, before I even decided to make a medieval fantasy town, but aside for hanging out with Knox there isn't much to say about him. I've had some pretty mixed experiences with jocks; Bam and Sparro were lots of fun, Mac was forgettable, Rory was evil incarnate, and Sterling is just kinda there... Honestly he seems more like a decoration than a villager... At least he isn't Rory though, not even a villager I like could get away with starting an ugly shirt cult.

Also Colton, he's more of an auxiliary dreamie so I'm not too fazed that I can't click with him but I do try to talk to him when I see him, I just never see him. Seriously every time I want to talk to him it seems like I need to look through every shop and museum exhibit before he turns up in the last place I look, or in one case the first place I looked because it took so long to find him that he apparently teleported back to the cafe after I already looked there.

It was the Lazy deer Beau.

He is wildly popular.

But, for me, I just didn't care for him. I had him in my past town, Progress (which I reset to create ACNLpics), and had a preference for a different Lazy deer—Erik.

This is much attributed to personal tastes. My No. 1 favorite villager in "Animal Crossing: New Leaf" is a Lazy—the bear cub Stitches. He is such a classic! And the game hasn't been short on impressing me with villager characters—no matter their Personality Category—who aren't necessarily among the most sought-after from forum member Hound00med's ranking lists. (For examples: I dig the Jock hamster Hamlet, who I have in Applewin, as well as the Smug hamster Rodney, who I have in Foster. I think, generally, that the most underrated specie of characters in "Animal Crossing: New Leaf" are the hamsters.)

I had Pecan for a while and she was never a dreamie of mine. I tried to get her to move for the longest until she finally did to make room for a real dreamie, now I regret that. I wish I could get her back.
There have been a few non-dreamies that I was sad to see go because I really liked their personality. Its almost sad too because im pretty sure that villagers were never meant to be sold or traded.

Yep, Erik. But I don't want Deirdre to die alone.

I'm having the same problem with Beau. Whenever I'm making my daily rounds to talk to my villagers, Beau's always missing. He'll either be up in mainstreet or holed up in the musuems (which I honestly don't visit often). /: Julian does the same disappearing trick as well, albeit to a smaller extent.

Sometimes, I feel like some of the villagers get along better with my side characters. Beau, Phoebe and Ankha (before I gave her away) all seemed to click really well with my male character, Quinn. They were always inviting him over and sending him letters. Maple, Marshal, Diana and Pierce were all immediately super chummy with me. I honestly find it all pretty cute :P

I find most of the personalities to be bland/boring, especially normal/smug.

Jocks and Uchis have some of the funniest/best dialog, and they also happen to have a lot of visually unappealing villagers. I love them the most though!

I've had this happen with my dreamie Merengue. She just seemed so bland once I went through several hoops to get her and plot reset her home. But in my other town I INSTANTLY clicked with Tia?? And I had two Flora's. The one in my main town was insufferable but the one in my 2nd town was pretty decent?? She wasn't as conceited as my first Flora???

I'm thinking it has to do with horoscopes! I know it affects villager to villager interaction but I'm thinking it also does for the players as well! Food for thought :)

Same thing happened to Marshal with me. It felt good when he moved in, and I payed a bit to get him in my town, but when he offered to move I just let him.

Agree :/
