This morning I woke up and while playing on my island, I thought how much I missed morning aerobics and doing my stretches in the OG animal crossing.

What are some things you miss from the older games you wish you could see revamped in New Horizons?

I forgot what it was exactly, but villagers would invite you over at a certain time and you sometimes at the option to buy their furniture.

And sometimes they would ask to come over to your house at a certain time.

I remember there used to be a hide and seek game.

Morning aerobics or yoga would be great to have again especially since all the villagers already have the animations and outfits ready to go for it. For some reason though it seems like Nintendo is struggling with the idea that they can possibly fit two things in the plaza at once or the idea that not everything has to be in the plaza. Like I’m sure they have no idea what to do if Lief and morning aerobics are on the same day when really they could just either have Lief come after or put Lief somewhere else on days where they clash.

Ah yeah, the appointments... I really miss making them and then forgetting I made them half of the time. Used to make me feel so bad for not showing up but at the same time I would actually love to see it back

What I miss most is things like the music boxes because I doubt we'll be seeing those back soon. Most of the old stuff that everyone talks about all the time (brewster, dream suite etc) will probably return with the updates, but I'm not sure about these smaller features...

I played the GameCube game the least, but I kinda love the feel of it. Like, it feels more woodsy than the other games. I also love the varied terrain and thickets especially. I’d kinda want to go back to that (though we don’t need the forced hats).

i miss the bright nights festival from wild world,, that was hella cute but this time, i wanna be able to decorate my own house with lights😤🥺

I do miss the cute little bushes that you could run over!

Does anyone think that there will be more buildings in future updates? Like Kicks, Leif, Brewster?

Kapp'n and Tortimer are other NPCs I do miss interacting with as well. 😩

What music boxes? 😮 I also loved being able to play NES games! Excitebike, Balloon fight, Mappy!

Not sure if this counts but I really miss the music from New Leaf during 7 pm and 1 am. I don't think that New Horizon's soundtracks are bad but they are kinda lackluster in my opinion. I remember playing New Leaf at 7 pm just to hear the music, especially the different variations of it (rain/snow)

Yeah! The flea markets or whatever? It was fun when they'd come over and comment on your furniture and stuff :) The only way you can get their stuff now is if they moved away from the recycle box :c

YES <3 The music box...I loved that... and the little NES games you used to get to play

There is literally so much that I miss so I feel like I might you an entire essay.

Firstly, and honestly this is a little bit of a complaint against the current game, but I really really miss the journal feature. I know that it only really existed in early early games and it wasn't promised to exist, and I'm sure it was overlooked as something that not many would appreciate, but I really enjoyed having a journal in the original Gamecube rendition of the game. It was extremely helpful for making in-game to-do lists and just recording things down. I've been thinking about this a lot recently because I've been trying to keep better track of my turnip prices. I don't want to take up space with another notebook in person just to write these things down because I'll forget. I've tried to record it on a spreadsheet too but I always forget. But if I could carry around a little journal, or set it outside /in my house somewhere in the game, I'd remember a whole lot better to go check and write them down. I am so disorganized and I have such big plans in the game and I always forget little steps because of how ineffectively I've been able to put down my thoughts!

I really really miss villagers coming over to your house. I'm almost finished decorating mine. I really want to sit down on my couch with Bob or hang out in my study with Purrl. I know I could technically do this at Harv's island but it's just not the same! I know a lot of people weren't necessarily a fan of the interruption of villagers knocking on your door and then feeling obligated to stay inside so that they can just stand there uselessly but I actually really liked it! They go over to each others' houses all the time. I'd like to think they just forgot to put this in. And that they hopefully will put it in soon.

Thirdly (I told you it'd be an essay), I miss gyroids SO MUCH sdlfkjsdf. I really really loved gyroids. They're so creepy and cute and I was obsessed with them when I first got the Gamecube game when I was like, 7. Not only do I miss regular gyroids but I miss having one outside of the house! It was a unique little element to the game that I wish they would have continued. I know that younger players and newer players might not enjoy them or feel too terribly attached to the idea but it really helps round out the animal crossing feel of the game when they're there. And all of the opened possibilities are so promising now with being able to set things down outside! I'd love to set stuff down around my house and drop them off throughout the woods. Who knows when they'll be back. I just really hope they bring them back soon.

Also I miss Gracie Grace lol. I miss her big shopping store. And I miss the post office. It always had such a cute feeling to it. I miss the credit card from City Folk too.

I really miss the flea market day in wild world. Being able to visit villagers homes and buy stuff was a lot of fun. And on the same note just having villagers drop by your house randomly was something I always looked forward to when playing. Wish they would bring it back

I miss La-Di-Day and Yay Day from Wild World. While it's nicer to have the more "traditional" events in most games, I really did like these. I loved my villagers coming up with town tunes, and complimenting them. I liked how much more interactive and connective to your villagers you felt in Wild World anyway.

I also miss all the villagers and NPCs who would drop by Brewster's cafe so you could here some of their backstory or just random titbits. Plus Brewster and Blather's friendship.

Celeste's constellations! And then having your constellations show up in the sky. I don't know if that would look as good in New Horizons as it did in WW but it looked so cute. Tbh I miss the sky in Wild World, it looked the best by far.

Club Tortimer in New Leaf was really fun, and honestly I loved how chill late night beetle farming was.

There's probably more but this is what I thought off on top of my head. I don't miss anything so much that I'm bothered by it not being in the game now, but I did enjoy these parts a lot. Oh, wait, I do miss something that I really miss was part of the game now: the Rococo set, haha!
