I was sitting on my decking at home and our doorbell went and in my excitement I saved my game and shut my DS and instinctively popped out the cartridge as I was in a hurry what happened next breaks my heart, IT FELL INTO THE VOID UNDERNEATH THE DECKING!!! theres absolutely no way that I am able to retrieve the cartridge as the gap it fell into is the barely wider than the width of my wrist so I can't reach it, and even if I could it might be further under the decking than I first thought, I looked down the gap with a torch to see if I could see it but alas it is gone :( I'm such a butterfingers, crying my eyes out as it might be months until I can get a new copy. SO this the second cartridge I've lost in 4 months.

If I was you... I probably wouldn't give up. I'd like rip the deck apart, hahaha. I don't like getting new things.

Personally, I wouldn't give up so easy. I'd find something long, like a broom handle and cover it in tape with a lot of sticky side out and go fishing for my game. If that wasn't long enough or too thick to go between the boards I'd use a coat hanger or two or three to covered in tape (More stickier the better). Be creative, find something that will go down there and catch your game !!!

dont give up
move that desk or break it get something long and put sticky stuff
dont give up on the game rescue it

Deck boards are easy enough to re-nail into place.... I agree with Zebra, go on an animal-crossing-game-cartridge-rescue mission! We believe in you! ^_^ (I agree with duct tape being an excellent strategy!) >:]

haha guys thank you, I will keep trying, I hope to get it soon although, since i posted this it has rained quite a bit but I will try and retrieve it.

I'm sorry to hear your loss! :(
That's one of the reasons why I usually only play inside, so it doesn't get lost outdoors.
Is there any other way you can access under the deck and retrieve it?

unfortunately no there isn' I'm curently improvising a method to get my cartridge back. but as I said it has rained since I posted this thread and water has more than likely got under the decking including the spot where my cartridge is, just hope it can be saved once I do retrieve it

Try the duct tape idea. You can't just give up. Pat, pat. I am so sorry. I would be devastated as well if this happened to me. As for the person who made that sarcastic remark, way to be a human being. There is time for humor and a time to be decent. You chose poorly. Keep us posted, sweetie and good luck.

Ah I'm sorry! That really sucks D:
I wouldn't give up so easily either. I'd do what everyone else said:
Get some long/skinny enough to fit in there with something sticky on the end.
Or rip the deck up.
Even if it got water damage it might still work.
Just kinda wipe it off with a paper towel or cloth and let it dry out inside.

And I never take my cartridge out unless I'm sitting in my room.

So good news... I have a large collection of DS games that work perfectly, and I have a sweet little niece. Long story short, she bathed them all in soap and water.... All still work! It's flash memory, so as long as the contacts don't get messed up (clean with rubbing alcohol and a q tip) it's riddculously hard to destroy the things.

Oh that's... kind of cute actually ^^ But only because they weren't destroyed! Was she trying to wash them?

I'm always afraid when I manipulate the cartridge to scratch them or something. I guess if they can survive something like this, then I have nothing to worry about XD

When I was on holidays one day, I forgot my AC cartridge on the table in the hotel suite and I cried my eyes out.
What did I do? I went back and took the game with me.

That's just life I would say. **** happens. I know it's tough but it's like that.
