Nook's Homes?

When you purchase something from Nook's Homes, then purchase something else. Can you go back to the first thing without re buying it again?

I never tried this but I strongly suspect that Ol' Tom would remind you that Nook's homes is not a charity.

I'm almost positive that you cannot do that but I could be wrong

I have never seen an option to do that. When you purchase something new, if you want to go back to whatever you had before, you have to wait for it to appear in the shop again and repurchase it.

If you mean an exterior, you can only buy one of each at a time, per day and character (if I remember correctly), unless you decide not to save your game.
