This happened with Punchy during bug-off and then I talked to him and stopped looking sad. Another time it happened to me was when MY character was using a sparkler or roman candle, and I automatically stayed looking happy

It tends to happen when you pay off the loan before he asked you to meaning, the expansion was built, you didn't talk to him the next day or so, but paid off your loan before talking to him.

I've had it happen before too.

Well darn, I've done that so many times but never been as lucky as to pay 0 bells.

I'm on my last upgrade then my mansion is 100% complete.

Happened to me too I was like.. wut..

I thought it might've been because he finished the reno, but I didn't talk to him right away and maybe it appeared in the ABD and I paid it off without knowing, THEN visited him. But I tried doing that again, but the loan amount doesn't appear on the ABD until you talk to him.. So I guess it's just a glitch.

Yeah, someone else on these forums had posted his screenshot of his 0 bell loan and we all decided he had already paid.
I wish Nook would give is a freebie every now and then, he's been making us work hard for so long!
