I have 8 villagers in my town so I know Nook is going to try to sneak one in. Every morning I begin with a throwaway player so I can check out the land. It actually works out kinda nice because I don't have the beautiful town ordinance in effect, so my throwaway player can pocket any weeds or garbage that will poof disappear when I delete him.

I have a little route that I take that covers my whole map. I wander, greet the villagers, who are all on display, check for fossil placement and look for the roped off area and sign. If I see it - boom - I reset. I do this every morning until I can get one of my dream villagers in from my cycling town and so far it's worked very well for me.

This morning was no different, start the day - talk to Rover ( Gah, I'm really getting to hate that cat. ) check the town out.. nothing, and good... I save so I can come in on my mayor.

While walking to where I saw a fossil buried I come across a roped section with a little sign. Eloise.... OO!
I swear it was not there. It's even next to the fossil that I noted on my throwaway character.

One of three things must have happened.

A: I need coffee more desperately than I thought, esp. If I can't see a 4x4 roped section sitting in the middle of the bloody map.
B: Nook has mad ninja skills and somehow snuck her plot in
C: Nook is a Master of illusion even greater than Chris angel. Not only can he make an elephant disappear, but her house as well.

I would be much more upset if she had taken the last slot and I had to wait until someone moved out to get Clay in, but as it is. I still have space and I may ( who knows ) actually start to like this villager. ?!?
... but all I got to say is Dammmmn Nook - you are one sneaky son of a procyonid.

every time you reset, things change. when checking for plots, if you have no one there, you still need to set your house down and save, or else the position of everything wont save and theres a chance of the game changing to have someones plot there.

My throwaway player is saved... with a dandelion in his pocket... I haven't deleted him yet. In all seriousness, I'm thinking that it's maybe it's the lack of coffee, because I've never seen a plot spawn after the save.

Here's some pictures of Nook distracting me while he takes the elephant out of his back pocket.
