So, when i first bought Nintendogs + Cats, the puppies were cute as well as the cats! but the neighbour names were different for no reason like for example, the recycle man's name in the US version is Roberto while it is Bruno in the UK Version. Why did NOE bother to do that? i'm not taking this seriously but it would confuse players from other countries. Take Pushmo/Pullblox for example, why did NOE have to rename that? it was great as Pushmo but why rename it? it would confuse other players! Shame on you NOE.
Fluidity = Hydroventure
Style Savvy Trendsetters = New Style Boutique
Fortune Street = Boom Street, REALLY?!
Crashmo = Fallbox
What next, Nintendo of Europe? its not like we're people in a different language, come on, even Nintendogs in EU has NOT EVEN GOT ANY DLC!

What do you think? I'm not taking this seriously...

We will probably get Animal Crossing: Let's turn over a New Leaf!

There are plenty more games that have had a different name when they land in the UK.
I'll also mention how some of the boxes get changed from over seas. Main example there is the changes to Kirby's artwork when coming from Japan to the US.
It's just something that happens.
And I'm surprised that you hadn't mentioned the fact we got "Let's go to the City" over "City Folk".

Yes I do completely agree.

The reason that I didn't mention that is because (while I did enjoy the game as I still occasionally play it)
I thought the name was so mind-numbingly crappy, it wasn't worth even thinking about as it really sucked for a name, in my honest opinion...

Yeah, it seems that in Japan the characters in boxart tend to have happier expressions while in the US they are more serious. I wonder why that is.

Ugh. The Kid Icarus one really bothers me, they even toned down the pinkish background by a ton and brought the enemies closer.

The reason is that NoA thinks they will sell more copies over here if it looks more "mature". Or at least, that's the only reason I can come up with. If you look at the changes they make, it fits.

"NOA: If a character is smiling on a box it looks too kiddy and girly! ALL THE CHARACTERS HAVE TO LOOK SERIOUS. GRRR! BECAUSE THAT'S HOW A REAL MAN LOOKS!!!"

Honestly it bugs me how different some box art is between America and Japan. At times Japan's art seems much nicer, and more colorful. But since people can't smile on the covers of games unless the game is geared for little kids, we usually end up with a box that's as serious as they can make it look. And you pointed out a good thing with that pink being washed out of it. |: I guess that little bit of pink made the box are look waaaaaaaay too girly for NOA to handle. 9.9 Personally I think the mix of blue and pink with a light hint of yellow in there looks so beautiful. The NA boxart just screams "GENERIC SKY."

Look what they did now.

They named the Scarescraper the Thrill Tower in Luigi's Mansion 2?
Why was this change needed?
Shame on you Nintendo of Europe..

I don't want all of the people in "New Style Boutique" saying british phrases like "crikey", thats just stupid.

Omg scarescrapers is a much better name than Thrill Towers

Personally I think Thrill Tower is a lot less lame than Scarescraper. |: Scarescraper is cringe-worthy bad.

LOL
I agree with the pink but not with the smile...

Since the box art has been mentioned before, I'm curious as to how the box art of old games like for the NES, Sega, and other old systems were handled in Europe. I know in America box art was changed pretty radically a lot. Especially with the original Mega Man series. I even found some pretty bad European box art for that too!

First Mega Man's box art: *first is the Japanese box art, second is US Box art. Third is Europe's.*

Are there any other examples like this? xD I still think the box art we got in the US is the worst out of of them!

For some reason, i recently checked my Swapnote to reveal a Luigi's Mansion 2 stationery! for some reason, i was sent with the one with "Dark Moon" on it days ago but the "new" stationery REPLACED my stationery just like did it with Fallblox/Crashmo.

Shame on you, NOE for britishifying things up! i don't want everything to be British!

I mean, looking at it like that makes sense, but it's all in advertising and marketing. I mean, these stuff is nailed down to a science. Yes, pink tends to be more of a feminine color. And in America, the main reason why they do that is because they want to sell copies to kids who think it looks cool. It's all about catering the culture.

I thought crikey was an Australian phrase?
