No pings after PWP trick?

I've been doing the PWP trick for the past hour and after a couple of tries I've had maybe 3 or 4 times with no pings. Is that normal? >:C Getting kinda mad that Diva or Canberra won't give me the PWPs I want.

Maybe there were villagers near you, on the beach or something. Were you long enough in the water? Did you get stinged (not sure if this actually matters).

lol even they ping it wont be 100% about pwps. Is all about luck. Probably try again tomorrow and have better luck.

Did you talk to a villager to see if they think you've been playing too long and need to take a break? It's easy to "time out" like that, but once you get them to tell you to take a break, the pinging will resume. Also like Flyffel said, make sure the villagers you want to get pings from are not in sight of you.

i dont think i will ever get the police station, why that isnt an easy to get PWP like the cafe is beyond me.

You need to talk to a villager normally again or they won't ping (since you've been playing for "too long"). Clover has explained it better above.

I like to just swim around for a scallop for one of Pascal's set while I wait. If no one pings, I'll talk with someone, then hop back in. That way if I swim too long, I'll be sure to get the "You should take a break!" dialogue out of the way.

EDIT: If I still haven't got a request and I managed to catch a scallop already, I just fill my inventory with dive creatures and make trips back and forth to Re-Tail. Yes, someone could ping to buy one from me, but at least I'm making a little money while burning all that time.

When I try to much they just talk to eachother
By they I mean my villagers

Oh my god, yeah they start talking to each other, and usually someone's pissed off, sad, or happy and then they don't ping >:C

I would just skip to the next day or do it with a new character
I got the totem poll and pipes from doing the pwp trick
Then the next day while I was actually playing I got the video screen suggested >.<
