No new villagers

Julian has been gone for two days and today I expected to find a empty reserved plot for a new villager.
So far there isn't. How long does it take for a new villager to move in to town? Or is it also possible to prevent villagers from moving in, besides reaching the maximum amount?

Some time within the next week you should see the new plot. You have a higher chance of getting the new plot as the days go by. I have had it take around four days before, so just be patient.

It takes a long time sometimes. Once it took a week for the 9th villager to move in to my town c:

Sounds about correct, the game did that to me as well.

It can take up to a week for someone to move in. No more than a week though.

if you currently have nine villagers then nobody new would move in unless you invite someone from campsite or have an animal move in from another town

It does take a while, on my cycling I was at 8 and I tent reset for several days and was just gonna wait for the new plot to show up, but then I got Lolly in a tent. It just takes several days cause the game is giving you a chance to get someone you want rather than have a random move in.
