So a lot of people have been trying to figure out plot resetting with the new update, but it turns out you don't have to!

This method is easiest if you're just starting a new town and already know a rough idea of where you want your villager plots to be. The first thing I did was lay out my path with a default design, and then outlined all the 3x3 spaces where I wanted a villager house with another pattern (I did it with major PWPs too!) and then fill the empty gaps with a design every couple of feet, just enough so that there are no empty 3x3 spaces. Since villagers will no longer plot on patterns unless there's no more room, you can corral them into moving where you want!

If you have all the plots set up but want certain villagers in certain ones, place a pattern in the middle of all the plots you created except the one you want them to move to. Be sure to place one in the middle of PWP plots too, or someone might move there :o

but that would take sooo long

lol i mean so does plot resetting but

I did it and it worked :)
It took me two days to place the paths tho depends on how long you play and how many places you need to cover

Seriously it doesn't take you long to put down paths. It took me 30min or so. It's a small price to pay if you want your villagers to be in perfect spaces.

Chrissy and Marshal moved to their spots.
Whole town covered with patterns would simply cause villagers to plot over them :/.

can someone post a pic of how they placed paths in the empty gaps??? idk what to do lol

I am personally very happy with this feature of the update. Setting Lolly's plot was the easiest thing ever, I was so happy T^T

I was super excited to try this, but there were a few spots where I thought "surely there's no room between the edge of this path and the ledge, I won't bother with it." Sure enough, plopped her house down on my trees :( Same with another part of town where I had a main path set out, and i placed the 'don't-plot-here' path next to it and I thought it wasn't enough space for them to move in-between. Nope. Flowers ruined.

Lesson here is: if there is any possibility they can move there, place more paths!!!

I'm loving this. Coach and Muffy plotted exactly where I wanted them. Now I can start working on getting all farm animals in my farm town without fear of them messing things up.

I kind of wish i knew what OP is talking about? I thought it was referring to Mr. Resetti from the title.
