So there's an open world exploration indie game being released on June 21st 2016 for PC and Play Station 4.
This game is going to be mainly about exploration but there are various roles that can be filled.
The game uses algorithms to generate everything from planets and creatures, to weapons and ships!
All together there will be over 18 Quintillion Planets! That's an eighteen, followed by 15 zeros!
All together it would take over 5 billion years to go to every planet, even if you were on each one for only a single second, and that's also considering you're playing as efficiently as possible.
The game is being developed by Hello Games, the developers of Joe Danger.

So here are some discussion topics.

What's going to be in the center of the Universe? [This has been confirmed to be more or less the main objective of the game, it will take at least 40-100 hours to reach there depending on where you spawn when you first start.]

Will the game get boring quickly? [To a lot of people maybe, but the exploration factor alone, will be amazing enough to keep me entertained.]

Thoughts on there being no Xbox One Version. [I don't have a PS4, or a PC that can handle the game at this moment, so this is really upsetting to me :/ ]

Thoughts on the multiplayer aspect of the game. [There will be little interactions with other players due to the spacing, but you can name and upload creatures you discover to the "Atlas"]

What are we the players? [Even when looking at another player, you cannot see what's behind the mask.

Possible Easter Eggs. [Planet Earth/The Milky Way Galaxy, Joe Danger]

Any other topics you can think of.

This is one of the games that convinced me to buy a PS4. I do agree that it sucks it's not on the Xbox One since that's the main console I use and pay the yearly membership for. I hope the multiplayer isn't too amazing because I wouldn't be able to play it without buying a membership. With that many planets to explore I wonder how different they really are compared to each other though. Regardless, this game looks pretty neat.

I'll be picking this up, it looks like something both I and my fianc? will enjoy. I think the exploration alone and discovering new things will keep me interested in coming back over the years, like a larger scale Elder Scrolls or Old Republic game.

I mainly play on Xbox one as well but luckily we already have a PS4, I'm not a big fan of exclusivity though tbh.

Yeah, exclusives are kind of a bummer :/ but hopefully this new plan of Microsoft's, to start cross platforming games across PS4 and PC helps with that. As much of a fan of Xbox as I am, I like Playstation's exclusives waaaay better. In fact I hate our exclusives. I'm not a fan of Halo or Forza at all, but I love games like Sword Art Online, Little Big Planet, Ratchet and Clank, and of course, No Man's Sky.

I wouldn't worry about the multiplayer being to exciting xD Interacting with other players will be very rare to due to the spacing in between the planets. Even then, there's only so much you can do with other players. The biggest feature you'll be missing out on is the ability for other player's to see the names of the creatures you discovered and uploaded to the Atlas. And visa-versa. Which is pretty cool tbh, but it won't really degrade the experience in anyway.

Yeah I've never liked the console exclusives thing, I'd prefer games were available on every platform. I enjoyed Alan Wake on Xbox 360 and Mass Effect although that went on to PS3 later but otherwise I agree I like PS games like Little Big Planet, Heavy Rain etc. I would pick this up on PC but for the last few months for some reason certain PC games have made me feel really unwell while playing. It happened with Skyrim and so I went back to Xbox with it, not sure why but I'm not going to risk buying if I can't enjoy playing. I do also prefer a controller to a keyboard.
