No Golden Money Tree Spot?

This is the first time since launch that I have not had a golden money tree spot. I have searched everywhere, changing camera angles, etc for about 2 hours. Nothing.

Kinda sucks because now that will throw off my 4 day harvest cycle. Anyone else have this issue?

Have you tried digging up all your fossil marks?
I had a glitch a few days back where my glowing spot was a normal fossil spot but when I dug it up I got 1k bells.​

Hmmm...I think I did actually, I'll log back in and check it, but yeah, I don't remember seeing any in my search. Thanks for the tip though.

This happened to me yesterday. Couldn’t find the spot for either character and dug up 1,000 bells from a crack. Will this correct itself?

I've had normal glowing spots since the glitch so it doesn't seem like it will persist. It's still good to keep in mind in case it does happen again.​

I've found, since the update, that the places where the glow spot spawns have changed. It's been much more challenging to find it on some days. It's likely there, but could be hidden among flowers/trees or behind a building.

To add to your response, they have made the glow spot algorithm more lenient/flexible from what I can tell. They are spawning in places that used to be impossible like next to trees for example.

Thats annoying. But if that does happen, you could just plant the bells there and immediately scoop it back up and plant it somewhere else, right? That still works, I hope?

I stopped getting a golden money tree spot in June (then started getting it again in July when I cleared a lot more open space on my island). They do seem to have changed the formula and created a glitch involving the fossil spot with bells buried, but if not getting a money tree spot is a glitch it goes months back. It seems like from all the other threads on this as well as this one, like they have made it so the money spot can now appear in any empty spot, not only where there is a clearing big enough for a tree to grow, which makes it harder to find in some cases.

idk if it applies to you but if you cover your entire island with custom path designs/or any custom designs at all in general, leaving no "natural" ground space that isn't covered with a design, the glowing spot for money + to bury money won't appear. they only appear in spots where a custom design isn't placed down. hopefully that might help as well

That is correct, you can still dig the sapling up and put it elsewhere!
