When I got a pair of hybrid flowers in NL I would use these to create more hybrids. I’m am trying the same thing in NH but the hybrid pairs spawn less than with the standard colors. Example-White roses produce more purple roses than the purple roses themselves.

Thoughts?

I think they are trying to push the new feature in the game where odds rise with people watering your flowers? you know, pushing the online subscription thingy.

I rarely get clones when I water them on my own, but on days where my brother comes over and waters my flowers, the next morning I'll always have a ton of clones! So I think they're defo pushing the multiplayer aspect.

If you want to get more of the same hybrid you should always keep the 2 flowers separate to clone them. Although the odds of getting offspring won't be any better, you now have a chance to get 2 offspring instead of just 1 offspring.

There's also a bad luck mechanism at play here, increasing your chances to get offspring for each day without a flower breeding.
Personally, I would advise to have friends come over to water if you have a particular breeding scheme for a color you want (blue rose/purple pansy/green mum/etc). Having friends over to water all your flowers you better be prepared to play flower management deluxe the next day, because man, a lot of flowers can spawn with just 1 friend over. Having had rain for a couple of days in a row makes me glad that the breeding rate isn't any higher, haha!

If the friends factor plays a larger role for hybrids in NH, then I’m screwed! I don’t have an online subscription nor do i want one at this point.

Don't worry, I think all flowers besides the blue rose are easily doable on your own.

Even the blue rose is obtainable within a respectable amount of time. The basic idea here is to use a mass-breeding scheme to increase your odds of getting the right offspring by breeding many many flowers. It requires a little bit of work from your side watering that many flowers, but hey, some people complain there's too little to do in this game and I can assure you this will keep you busy for a couple of weeks. :) There's great online resources online if you are interested in how to use the mass approach. For example, AustinJohnPlays has a great video on how to get the blue rose on your own.

i know theres a 12x12 format you can use to maximise the number of hybrids you get from every possible flower, many yourubers have shown this with success!
