Ninth villager

I recently got down to eight villagers and want to recruit Knox, who is in my campsite. I know that, once you're down to eight, you get a random ninth move in (which hasn't happened for me yet).

If I were to get Knox to move in, would I get a random 10th or would that completely get rid of the random move in?

The 10th needs to be brought in from another town or campsite, so I am pretty sure yes.

Riiiiight as I posted this, I realized that I'd logged on as my mayor and had the random move in plotted, so now this question is pretty much pointless, but at least the villager plotted in alright spot so.
