Alright first off I don't know/care if there is already a thread asking these questions, I already used the search option.

Ok, my Wii is in need of repair but I don't know if my save data will be erased. I already know my Wiiware/virtual console purchases are going to be available for download if my save data is erased. I have a feeling they are going to replace the entire thing and if that happens I already have my most important saves backed up. I'm mainly asking what the probability is of my data being cleared.

The problems with it are:

It barely ever reads discs, and I have tried the lens cleaner.

I dropped it once and it began to shut off randomly unless I put a fan behind it, I'm guessing its because the back fan is broken.

The Gamecube memory card slots no longer work(the Wii doesn't recognize them)

Thanks

1. Take Wii outside

2. Put it on a hard, flat surface

3. Get a mallet and smash the Wii to bits

4. Take the remains of the Wii and light them on fire

5. Go buy a better system

It should be fine. I sent my Wii in for repair twice, and both times it came back with everything intact. All of my save data and downloaded games were still there. Don't worry about it, you won't lose a thing.

How does the system store data? Some sort of hard drive I would think, so maybe you'll be keeping your data. Not sure about this though.

The Wii stores data to its internal flash memory. But what does that have to do with anything?

I'm not sure. The only thing I have attempted to repair is a 360.

1. Try and be positive about something. (I've read two of your posts in 5 minutes and I already dislike you.)

2. If you're going to post, actually post with something related to the topic.
