Nintendo Spotpass service for Ltterbox advice please..

Just logged into my Nintendo Letterbox and it comes up with a message saying The Sportpass Service for Nintendo Ltterbox has ended. Thankyou for using this service.
All my settings on my 3ds are on to receive this - anybody else experiencing this or have i done something wrong??

Nintendo disabled it a while ago because they were concerned about people adding kids and sending inappropriate stuff to them or something like that. Don't worry, you haven't done anything wrong

oh ok thanks - can i still send letters to people on my fcode lists - using the Streetpass facility then?

I thought Litterbox/SwapNote was closed down MONTHS ago, I'm not sure you can send letters through streetpass but most likely, you can't.

Oh can send letters through STREETPASSED.
They took it off because people were adding people online and sending them inappropriate stuff.
You can still send letters through streetpass.

I just deleted it yesterday because I was hoping that they would enable the spotpass again but then I just deleted it to save space on the homescreen.

Supposedly this works if you actually streetpass them; I keep meaning to try it but really, if I'm in the same room as my friends why bother sending a swapnote....

As far as I'm concerned, they made Swapnote a pointless waste of space once they took away the ability to send messages to a friend over the internet(why I haven't removed the program, is beyond me)
