I put in a repair ticket with nintendo for my joy cons(the drift is real). Today I got 2 emails(one from ups with the shipping label) and one from nintendo with instructions for sending my joy cons. In the email it said if i gave a cedit card number when i put in the repair order it will be charged when the repair is complete. I'm confused i thought the joy con repairs were free plus ive had my system for less than 12 months so its still in warranty? Have any of yall has to pay to get your joy cons fixed?

UPDATE- i called nintendo and they said as long as there is no physical damage the repair is free. i will send them out tomorrow

I haven't sent my joy cons in to be repaired, but I was also under the impression that Nintendo will fix the joy con drift for free. I was actually hoping to send mine in soon, but I will wait to see what others say about this first. I feel like if the cost is more than 50 dollars, I might as well just buy new ones since those are around $60, I think.

if it under warrantee the wont charge you. keep in mind they might also charge for shipping if its not.

I just did this and Nintendo repaired it no charge and shipped it back yesterday. Should arrive by tomorrow. I didn’t have to pay for any shipping both ways. They give a shipping label to send it to them. Mine has been out of warranty for a long time.

that's good to know. what did they charge for the repairs?

i should ve just waited then... i was queued up with 5 drifting joycon so i changed it myself. I waited a month with no replies.
That’s a long wait. I do know there was a time their repair centers were closed so that probably affected it. I asked for the repair as they were opening middle of June and got a reply within the week.

They were closed when I last tried to send mine in, now I have to do it again

Yeah hopefully it’s pretty quick now. I had the shipping label for a while but didn’t get to send it until July 1 and got the email they are shipping it back yesterday.
