Nightmare with the villager reset trick!

At my wits end! Spent three hours doing villager reset trick today and each one was a villager I didn't want! It seems to be the Jock type that is going to move in and I am really keen on ones like Poncho and Kid Cat, but nooooo it kept giving me others and some of them kept popping up over and over again!

Given in and tossed the 3DS aside for a few hours. Will just need to leave it up to random luck who moves in as I just can't face anymore villager resetting!

Has anyone else had problems with this particular trick?

I don't have to worry about the villager reset trick really, I never have had the need to do it and I don't know how to do it anyway xD

All my random move-ins were great villagers and I never have less than 9 villagers.

I did the villager reset trick once. Got Octavian the first time but his house was in an awful spot. Reset the second time, messed it up so I got stuck with the second one. Luckily, it was Bruce who I adore, and he put his house in a great spot!

I don't think I'll do the reset trick again...Clearly I'm bad at it.

maybe the reset trick just isn't for you, 3 hours is nothing. I spent maybe... 15+ hours resetting for Julian ;0 on my side town

This is the bajillionth time I've forgotten not to start the game on my already existing character - I got excited because I got the final shop upgrade, the first house I didn't mind the spot but today some villager ruined my hopes and dreams, I was getting excited to design my town but now, I guess i'm just gonna design it random and nothing too big and fancy. Aaah wellll :/

Happens all the time to me, 3 hours is not so bad, actually! I am resetting at the moment, hoping for either jock/smug/uchi I want. I once had Julian and the spot wasn't that bad... I reset. Do I regret? Yes.

Well, at least you're getting only one type. A few days ago, my game kept switching between smug and normal and it took me a long time before I got a villager I liked (Lolly) and that their house was in a decent spot too (could have been better, but I pretty much went "Okay, good enough for me" because I was tired of seeing Rover's face, lol).
