What is your favorite town name? (other than the town name you actually chose for your town)

I know that's sort of vague and it might depend on the theme/villagers or whatever, but just in general: what are some town names that you think are cute/pretty/cool/nice?

Or.. If you had to rename your town and couldn't use the same name what would the new name be?

Just looking for inspiration. c:

I desperately wanted to name my town GreenGrove based on the town from a story I wrote.

Unfortunately the letter limit wouldn't allow it. I'd be able to put GrenGrov at best. I could've thought up a better name, but since I just really wanted to start playing (I got it on release but didn't start playing until the next day because it was late when I got home), I just went with Sunshine, the same name from my City Folk town.

It's a shame there's a letter limit, I'm sure we could really get creative with the names.

As far as cute names go, my one friend's town is named StarLite, and it definitely suits her town. :3

I tend to be fairly unoriginal with my town names. Back when I had WW I named my town Rohan. (Lord of the rings reference.) Then with my current town I named it Whiterun. (Skyrim reference.) if I had to choose a different name I'd probably still choose names of places that already existed in those worlds like Solitude, Riften, Markarth, Gondor, Bree, Mordor, Erebor, Edoras, The Shire.

I've seen some nice town names like Willow, Dream, Maplerow, Gloom, Arcadia.

I also think the letter limit sucks. I would have loved to name my cycle town Wonderland, but it's too long :(

I guess the name depends on if you want it to match a certain theme or if you just want it to be named after something you like.

I can't really think of any town names that I would really want, I remember there was one I tried when I first made my town but it was too long. I really like my towns name though, Lalaland, Its cute

I was actually really close to naming my village 'Ebola' when I started playing New Leaf last month. At the time, it was just a word I knew I heard somewhere but couldn't think of where I heard it or what it was...Glad I went with something else xD

My friend called his town 'Majorian' which I think sounds pretty nice. It's a place name he came up with in reference to 'Majoras Mask', as well as a place name we use for our 'comic book' project where everything takes place.

My town is called Starlark since, stars are my favourite thing and putting lark after it seemed to have a ring to it.
I have a major obsession with France (the country, not the Hetalia guy) right now so I named my cycling town Alouette.

Jennifer's town, Pink Sea, is a really nice name. Someone (can't remember who) named their cycling town deer?. They reset and it's now Seabelle but I think deer? is a really nice name, especially as Rosie came from there and sings its beautiful town tune to me often.

edit: the person was poppet!

I wanted to name my town something different other than O'Belle, like Wonderland or something with the same amount of letters but..it just wouldn't fit..gosh darn it..

But I usually do names that are like either similar to places irl, or unique or they sound/seem kinda fantasy-like or something associated with da game e.g, Fallgate and yea..

I remember one that I laughed at when I saw it in someone's sig, but it's not really appropriate to say here lol.

I like woodsy town names like Dogwood, Pinewood, Oakwood, Sycamore, etc. I also like really nightsy sounding names like Nebula, Moonvale, Novaland, etc.

If I had to choose a different name for my town, it would probably be Starland.

I called my last town Niitvael so as to get around the character limit because I wanted it to be Night Vale themed, and I grew to really like that spelling :) I was also considering calling my current town Oreion - space theme, again misspelling intentional - or Hollowyn, for a Halloween themed town. I just really like strange spellings of fairly plain words >.<

I always think of cheerful names.I actually thought of naming my 4th town "cheerful".Heres some names i like.

Charming
Happy
Sunshine-This is the name i ended up using for my 4th town.
Joyful
Funshine

I really wanted to name my "Joy" town "Storybrook or Storybook", but there is too many letters in both names.

i like towns that have mystical and cute cheery kind of names. the most common ones are things from fantasy video games.
you see lots of hyrules and shires.
my town name is erebor, and i love it so much. it's so pretty.
erebor, mirkwood, rivendell (too long but w/e), maybelle, florence, etc

I wanted to name mine Phantomile after a fictional world from the game Klonoa or Primavera which means spring in portuguese but sadly they didn't fit the character limit... They'd be nice town names, I think.

I went with Hyrule. I originally had Tamriel and Tristram but then my friend on Skype mentioned that Hyrule was a popular choice and so I decided to jump on the bandwagon. I have a friend who had New Leaf at one point lol

My favorite town name is Clambake, which I encountered in a dream. To me, this name feels cozy and fits a nice little resort town by the sea. My town is called Goldmoon, and I think two of my other choices for names were Jubilee and Lemonade.

I really love night time names too :3 My old town was Nocturne, but I also considered Estrella.
