NH Life Hacks [SPOILERS]

I don't know if this counts, but for those who have trouble with distance, dig a hole, or have a 1x1 item (a shell lamp is good) up against/ in front of palm trees (any trees) when beetle farming, and you won't miss, as it's the exact distance you need to be to catch them.
Dunno if someone posted this yet, but- if you want your musically-inclined villagers (or any villager who feels like singing) to sing a certain song, have it playing somewhere on your island. I have various songs playing in various places, and so far I've ONLY noticed my villagers singing one of the other of them. If they're near the music player they will sing that song, but even if they're far from it, they might. ...It is weird when they start singing K.K. Dirge, which is by my secret beach, though 
On a similar note (music pun, lol)- put instruments near music players near areas where villagers gather (like the plaza).Villagers have impeccable rhythm and will play along to the beat!
Also, here's another- most people may know this but I only learned it recently. Able Sister's have extra clothing in stock every day (including other color options) if you go into the dressing room! Unfortunately, it's rather tedious to buy a lot of items this way, but it's still nice.

I've saved mine on the off-chance someone on here is desperate for Bunny Day items or something, lol. But I have side characters and one of them is hanging onto them (her name is Bunny actually, lol) so I don't waste storage space! I definitely don't want to eat them, though. I did during Bunny Day, but now that's they're "retired" (for the time being) they're rarer than fruit, which regrows and I ALWAYS have extra of.

This, this, this! I've had to scrap several outfits because trying them out was a fashion do not ever, what were you thinking?!? The outfit was removed and the villager and I agreed to not speak about it t again.
On the other hand, I've had outfits I was iffy about... I traded for a Moldy Dress on here today and was really unsure if it'd look good on Lucky, since it IS a bit out there. But I tried it on and LOVED it!
Whenever I get a new villager I use this website to find their favorite outfits and then, if I have the items, I head to Harvey's to try some out! I've had some outfits I ended up loving... and, yes, some I've decided to never even think about again
