Hi Guys! I joined this forum a couple days ago and in so far I am really enjoying it! However, I have tried selling a couple items and to no avail so far. Im wondering if I am doing something wrong. Do any of yall have any tips on how to get items to sell. Is it just pure luck? Thanks in Advance!

Clickbait your thread title by overusing emojis. /sarcasm

Jokes aside, just bump your thread every two hours according the the bumping rule and you'll eventually get some traffic.

Are you selling items in nooks cranny threads? Most likely it got burried and lost exposure from the front page. With the amount of people posting constantly, its easy for your thread or shop to move on to page 2 in 10 minutes making it hard for people buying to see it. Most just look at the 1st page. It can also be that your prices are too high or maybe the item your selling is not wanted by many. If thats so, check other selling shops to see their price and match it.

Tysm for the advice! By any chance, do you know if 1 NMT is considered alot in these forums?

Mostly just being persistent about bumping (within the rules). I also use the TBT discord to sell things sometimes too, although the pace of trading on Discord is somewhat slower (less traffic).

Depends on what you consider "alot".

From my understanding, 1NMT = 15k IGB, which I consider to be reasonable

Yeah those boards are crazy busy and even the best, most reasonable offers get buried before anyone’s even had a chance to read them.

Only advice I can give is to make your title appealing.
The more desirable your item/service, the better to just be straightforward about it. If it’s something niche, a creative approach to draw curiosity might be more effective.

The rate is much higher than that. You can get six figures per NMT.

Last I checked, they're worth 200-300K IGB
I think 300k is a bit too high of an estimate. I've seen prices all over the place recently though.

Tysm for the advice, Fey! If you don’t mind me asking, what examples of creative approaches have you seen on these forums?

From what I see in Nooks Cranny thread the price for NMT can fluctuate between 100k-200k. Its a big difference but there people that are buying 200k each ticket. Before it used to be that you can sell them for 300k+ each but a lot of people are selling it too. In additon, some just get NMT through other websites so the bell price for them are getting lower.

I’d need to scan the board for specific examples, but if we’re talking generally:

• humor—maybe a pun or funny reference
• welcoming/personable language
• use of emoji or cute text symbols*

* with this one less is more

Titles that look unique and/or show an effort on the poster’s part are definitely a draw. They sound more personal and create an expectation of a good experience.

Don’t know if that helps, but it’s all I got right now haha
