Yeah from the sounds of it you'll have to start over. Which is always fun! I've done it numerous times and people here are so generous especially in a situation like yours

If you can't get it to work again, then I'd say definitely YES!!! Get a new copy of ACNL. Maybe your mother would even contribute to the cost of it. Honestly, a new town can be such fun.

I have two cartridge copies of ACNL, for my two towns which I operate on two XLs. Yesterday I lost one of them. Apparently I forgot to put it in my game cartridge case, where I always put my games. I coudn't find it anywhere! I even moved furniture. Finally I gave up and ordered another copy from Amazon ($24.99 I believe?). Then two hours of searching later, I found it under my knitting. Luckily I was able to cancel the order and I have my second town back.

Haven't found anything. But I did find that it's hard to repair the game cartridge itself and it's best to just buy it again..I guess one of these days I'll buy a new acnl.

The dry rice thing is only for water damage I believe.

I'm so happy for you, Jessicat! Your mom was awesome to buy it for you. I'm sure she felt terrible for accidentally breaking it.

I don't have a lot, but please keep us all posted and you never know - you may have a wish list and I do have a lot of stuff cataloged so if you need something I can get it for you for no charge. I don't have excess in-game bells, but I do have fruits and other stuff.
