New Town Advice?

Hi. I've recently decided to restart my town. It'll be hard to leave my current one, but I want something new and fresh! I need some help, though. Mainly on finding a place to store my stuff.

I'll probably reset when the weekend rolls around... I need a place to put my items that I want to keep. If you can help me out, that would be awesome! PM me if you're interested.

I also need help with the usual. I want to find a town name that'll go along well with my new mayor's name, Mochi. Any ideas?

I want to find good ideas for a new town map. If you can, can you post yours below, or describe it?

I also need advice on how to get bells early in the game. (I really need them xD)

I hear not having a lot of ponds on your town map is pretty good since you have more room to work with. But I personally like ponds so I have lots of them anyway and no room to work with so take my advice, unless you really like those ponds, don't go for them.

For your town name, since your Mayor's name is Mochi, why not go with the Japanese food theme? Onigiri, Takoyaki, Soba, Tempura...? I'm actually pretty bad at names. My town's name is Tokoro, which is the Japanese word for "Location" -_-. I'm sure you'll think of something good.

As for making Bells quickly, I think someone already mentioned converting your TBT into in-game Bells. I think the going rate now is between 10 and 15 million per 100TBT, so you can literally become a millionaire instantaneously. For a more natural method, there's always beetle farming on the island, though you'll have to wait till you unlock the island. And of course, you can start your perfect fruit orchard early. If your town has peaches as its native fruit, I'll be happy to give you a basket of perfect peaches to start this out; otherwise, I think you'll be able to get your hands on some in the Train Station subforum.

If you need someone to chill with their gates open while you reset and transfer stuff back and forth, let me know and I'll clear some space around my station for you to do it! I have to ask the same of other people around here sometimes since I have two cartridges but only one console, so if I get something in one town but want it in another... the whole transferring process is annoying but it's so much less painful when you don't have to freak out about finding a person to help you out with it. If not me, someone else will offer, if they haven't already.

Shoot me a PM or VM if you need anything and I'll give you a hand! I can always haul over some random items for you or bring some fruit or whatever.

For a town map, make sure the position of re-tail is either close to the dock (for beetle hunting) or the train station (for trades or running back to sell nook's items if you're cataloging) or at least not tucked away in a far corner. That and be mindful that ponds made an entire area un-usable for bigger PWPs, house placements, etc... those two are my biggest considerations
