i just got the new 3ds xl
wow the sounds are so much better than the old one
it is much faster
i haven't tried the amiibo yet
anyone has the new one? what do you think about it?

I just got it for my birthday a few weeks ago. A great upgrade: graphics are crisper, sound is clearer and the menus are faster. I don't use the 3D, but it is much more stable now for those who do! Majora's Mask has been a blast on it :)

I also received my New 3DS XL a few weeks ago, and I have to say that I won't be able to come back to my older 3DS XL models.
All of the improvements it brought made the same gaming experience I had with my older 3DS models much more bearable and seamless, therefore getting more enjoyment out of the New 3DS XL. Clearer sounds, cleaner screen output, snappier menu performance, embedding Circle Pad Pro into one hardware, and a noticeably more comfortable ergonomic are what warranted me getting the hardware in first place.

My only complaints about the hardware is that they didn't included the proper screwdriver to give one extra step on microSD card swapping and that the C-Stick is kinda hard to grip on it. Just be prepared to invest a bit more of your hard-earned cash and you'll be thanking yourself for not ending up with a technically crappier model.

Love mine, upgraded from a regular 3DS. Such a huge difference...

Waiting for Xenoblade Chronicles 3D!

overall i think it's a nice system, but there are just a few small things that really bother me...

it's so inconvenient to take out the sd card!!

the stylus is in a really awkward position

the power button is too easily pressed

other than these things i really like the system

I love my new 3DS XL! I had the original blue 3DS for over 3 years and it was definitely my time for an upgrade.

The system is beautiful and works like a dream. My only suggestion is turning off the auto-brightness where it reads your surrounding light levels and changes the screens brightness to a good brightness. I found mine was always way too sensitive and would just make my screen really dark.

After turning that off, everything is perfect!

i HATE the fact that you can't get the regular sized new 3ds in the US. I just HATE it.
I hate the XL versions of the DS'es. I don't think it'll be too difficult to sell the new 3ds in NA but noooo nintendo just had to troll NA

You shouldn't have to take it out more than once, unless of course your PC doesn't support wireless connections. If that's the case, then that is really troublesome.

I've had mine since release and I love it. All the new physical features are easy to use (except for stylus placement, let's be fair), and I've been playing more games in full 3D thanks to the super-stable 3D function. Before I got it, I thought I wouldn't be able to get used to some things, like the ZL/ZR buttons and the new volume slider placement, but when I play on my old 3DS XL I find myself trying to push/slide those in the N3DS placement.

I'm really happy with it and I'll definitely be playing with it as much, if not more, as my old XL.

On average, Caucasians have bigger bone structure... so maybe Nintendo thought people would opt for the XL anyways? I didn't know the new 3ds xl came as 3ds and the xl... :/ or Nintendo may be just trying to make more money which sounds more plausible

Lucky you! What colour did you get? :)

I want to upgrade mine as well (I have the purple 3DS), but I'm waiting for a nicer colour to come out. I might cave and buy a nice case to cover once of the existing colours, though.

i got the red one....pretty fancy shiny red....now i'm thinking of getting a second new 3dsxl....lol....i use the second one to transfer hybrids...buy and sell turnips....etc...(btw i have 7 towns...lmao) ugh...i can't destroy the old town i have..i dunno why...i feel bad to keel those cute villagers? O.o i really have no idea lol...

is it my imagination that the screen on the new 3dsxl is a little bigger than the old 3dsxl?

I really like mine, but I noticed a squeaking sound coming from the left side of my back cover and I is driving me crazy... I even tape the back cover to the console, so that it would stop. I can can get really sensitive about such things haha.

I would get one but only when my current 3DS is about to crap out, which probably won't be any time soon. Also I hear things about not being able to transfer the saves of downloaded software.

When you transfer from your previous 3DS to the New 3DS, you mean? It transferred fine for me, and all saves are still intact. Maybe they screwed up or they didn't transfer their saves themselves, since you need to transfer the data from your old SD card to the microSD used for the New 3DS.

Is it worth switching to a New 3DS XL from a 3DS XL?
I'd say yes, but I may be biased in that. I bought my old 3DS XL on the day that the system launched, and with how much I used it, the system sorta started to need replacement anyway. The fact that the N3DS improves on a lot of things was only a bonus for me, but at this point I take it for granted. Even the stuff I initially was less than excited about (like the new placement for the stylus and game card) I've gotten used to, and I find myself grabbing for things in the wrong spots during one of the few times I still use my old XL.

Anyway, long story short, I would say it's worth the purchase if you've had the system for a long time or it has some hardware problems, or even if you just want to play any exclusives for it. Beyond that, the most you'll miss from the N3DS is the C-stick in games that support it.

I see, I'll probably wait a while then since I bought my 3DS when Pokemon X and Y came out; it's the Pokemon edition.
