Hi all. We have a couple of announcements to share with you this evening.
First, we have two new moderators who will be joining our staff team. Please join us in giving a warm welcome to @Aerith and @S.J.!
Both Aerith and S.J. have stood out as helpful, kind, mature, and levelheaded members who are both trusted and well-liked in the community. We're excited to see how they apply this to a new role as community leaders and believe they'll be perfect additions to our current team.
Thank you to everyone who expressed interest in helping moderate the forum. While we're adding two new moderators today, we may consider expanding the team even more in the future, so we'll keep you updated. We appreciate all of you who are invested in making TBT a better community, whether as a moderator or a member, so thank you!
In related news, we'll also be implementing a generic "TBT Staff" account that will be accessible by all admins and mods, which may be used occasionally for events, responding to Contact the Staff threads, and other various moderation duties. Accounts like these are used across many forums, subreddits, and various internet communities as a way to respond to and help users as a collective team, as well as grant an extra layer of safety to our staff members when necessary. Our current team discussed the benefits of using such an account in certain situations, and we feel it will help us moderate the forum more effectively overall.
As you may have read from a previous announcement, we have paused all forum events for the time being. This is due to the time and resources available from the overall staff team (which we are starting to address with this announcement!), and so we can commit our time to other projects, such as updating the forum rules. The new rules are still a work in progress, but the expanded team will help expedite this process. While it's unlikely that we'll have a Halloween event this month, we still hope to host at least one event by the end of the year.
