Ok so I think I found a map I like for Greymoor, my medival/skyrim-esque town.

maybe map.jpg

I like to plan things. So I came up with this mock up. NOTE: I didn't plan villager houses yet.

hot mess of a map.jpg
Black house - Mayor's Castle
Yellow House - Farmer with some QR code crops
Blue House - Knight or Blacksmith
Purple House - Witch/Hermit/idk something along those lines
White building - Police Station
Cup - Cafe
Triangle - Camp

Any suggestions on placements??

EDIT: dang that waterfall is loud lol. Any ideas where a castle with a yard could go?

That's a really nice map! I love the layout you've done. I think where you have the castle is pretty good! You could also put it above the Plaza and have a 'courtyard' type thing?

I like your plan! I just wonder if the mayor's will fit considering the bridge as it is now, since you can't remove it before settling down the mayor's house... also, remember that if the campsite is on the southern part, you won't be able to plant cedars around it. I also believe there's not enough space for a human's house on that thin strip of land there. :(

I think you have to be two spaces away from the bridge, so you wouldn't be able to go all the way back but it should still look good?

That's a really nice layout! I also like the idea of potentially putting your house near the plaza to make it look like a courtyard, but I also like the position it's in right now. The layout for your roads also looks really neat! I always have trouble coming up with where I want my roads to go. I think it might look neat if you put the castle down in the bottom right corner, and had the area behind it near the waterfall be a sort of yard, with the castle looking out over the sea.

Trying to make the house closer to the river to hear less of the waterfall means the bridge plan I had was in the way. How does a diagonal bridge look?

I kind of like this area idea. Maybe have behind the house like an orchard?

a suggestion you don't have to listen to;
, move that one villager out and put the mayor's castle above the town hall/station? then she's close to the 'government' of the town. (but the witch's house is right across the water so idk if you'd want that). then you'd have room for the castle yard (maybe) in the surrounding area w/ no other villagers there

I don't mind too much if the camp has cedar trees. I am unsure where else to put it.
Also I tested it with the mayor and a house can fit on the narrow land at the top :)

How would I do this? I can't move her house once it is placed?

townhall.jpg

I got as close to Truffles house as Nook would let me. I AM MAYOR LET ME KICK HER OUT DAMNIT. Anyway....
Its off set from the path to add a small yard in front with bushes and then when I boot Truffles, I will have a back garden.

Hows this look? The the camp could go near the waterfall maybe? or the police station?

oh that's right, you can't move a villager out until after you place your house. that was stupid of me lol. sorry !
but that layout is nice too! you could maybe fit the station nearby. the campsite would be nice by the waterfall too! though it would also be a nice area for a flowery walkway/rose garden or something, if you get what i'm saying. just a floral and colorful area, idk lol

I keep post merging lol

But I really dig near the Town Hall since that would make sense since my mayor is Queen and will have a castle.

Yeah a flower walkway sounds neato too! I think I am going to take your idea on near the town hall. I got it as close to Truffles house as possible and i think a back garden would look cool :)

ah glad i could offer a suggestion haha!! i'd love to see pics of your town (or the da) when you get everything up and running :)
