I figured with New Horizons on the way there might be people who are new to the game entirely and it'd be nice for me to post some tips I've learned. Some might be obvious (I don't know how well known some of these are) and some might not be, but I hope they help you!
Also since Welcome Amiibo has come out I'm not entirely certain if some of these work still. If they don't or there's a new way to do something add it below.
To get the letter sending badge quickly fill your pockets with mail from T&T. Fill each letter with 4-5 lines of capital M and send them to your villagers. It'll only count a letter you send towards the badge if it has a certain amount filled and M is the biggest letter. I'm not certain how many sets you'll need to send.
To get all the money from your money rock dig three holes behind you in a straight line making sure your between the set of holes and the rock. This will keep you from being scooted back when you hit the rock and get you all the bells.
The easiest way to get your flea market badge is to sell ores. General rule for flea marketing; take the original price (what Reese suggest), multiply it by 4, and take one off. So if you get 9000 change it to 8999. I tend to sell gold and silver for 8999 bells and the rest for 7999 bells and my villagers find this to be a very good price!
To catch bees: Shake trees till you get a beehive and run north of them as soon as you do. Go in your pockets and set your net as your equipment (this pauses the bees). Be ready to swing your net and catch them when they get close. It might take a couple of tries.
Do your initiatives!!! You can trade in the meow coupons for a lot of bells at the atm depending on what the current rate is (I'm not sure what makes the rate go up or down). Mine is currently 3000 bells per coupon and I have 84 coupons which gets me 252000 bells! I prefer to save mine up, but if your in need of bells it's a good thing to have on you.
Get carpet and wallpaper from Saharah! It's a good way to fill up your catalog for those and not have to buy them individually. Plus you can sell what you don't want and he doesn't keep the ones that were in your house.
