New Leaf - Question on Inviting from Boxes

Hi, TBT!
I haven't played New Leaf in a while, so I'm just looking for a refresher on something:
How soon after starting a new game can you visit another town to recruit a villager in boxes?

I could be mistaken, but I believe you can start inviting villagers right away.

Ahh, so as long as I take my picture on the TPC, and can use the train, I'm figuring? One per in-game day, too.

Right, you'll just have to get through the tutorial stuff at the beginning to get your TPC, but that goes pretty quickly. And yes, it's one invite per day. If you invite more than one, the second one will overwrite the first.
