New here, help on entrance?

Hello all,

I have played years back but never really got that far into it. After my partner got a switch we got back into it so here I am trying it again . I reset a few times to find a map I seem to like but I also don’t believe I had a more middle airport and RS location, so I was hoping someone could help me find some ideas or if anyone happened to have a map similar to mine showcase maybe their island or some ideas, I would totally appreciate it!

I noticed the alignment between the airport and RS is just like one space or so off and it kind of bothers me so that’s why I ask, I wasn’t really sure what to do, or if it may be best to just reroll again.

So the way the maps work is there are predefined layouts that include the river & ponds, cliffs, and resident services, and then everything else is random -- to an extent. There are actually only two places the airport can be. Here's a reddit post with all the map layouts if you'd like to see; you can also see the spots the airport can be in for each river direction. So, for example, it wouldn't be possible to get that same map with resident services and the airport centered with each other; the only other airport location is further east.

That one tile off would bother me personally, but if you put some buildings or decoration in that area and then made paths around them instead of a straight path to resident services, that could work? If you feel like you should reroll though then go for it!

As I found when I restarted my map that post on Reddit really isn't all the map layouts but I do believe trying to perfectly line up the airport and resident center is pretty much impossible. What I did was run a path up from the airport which lands left of the center of the plaza, which I ended up liking because I have a small, undivided space to plop a few seasonal items down in front of resident services.

Otherwise if them not lining up really bugs you the best option will be to find a resident services building that's not straight above the airport.

I tried working with it for a little bit but just didn’t feel it. I will say I have seen this exact Airport+RS location from some attempts but it has been kind of rare. Would anyone know what the potential chances would be just to get this exact grid alignment from a right river mouth layout? The only thing I am trying to do is find this map with a green or orange airport. The rest, beaches, villagers etc I don’t care too much.

Something about this exact layout has me intrigued with some ideas, so I am just curious on what the potential chances are just find the air+rs alignment would be for thie right side river layout.

I just wasn’t entirely sure on how the map layout spawn works. Like if there’s 90 map layouts, does that mean each of those spawns, for right river that is, has an already set RS spot, or can the RS still vary if the river allows it?

Sorry if it’s an in-depth question, but I thought I would ask just to understand it a bit more.

Resident services is always in the same spot on a given layout and doesn't vary. Of the maps I linked to (didn't know that wasn't actually all of them, sorry!), I don't think there are any east river layouts where the airport can align perfectly with resident services. If you really like that particular layout, you could maybe try to find it with the aiport further east instead of right underneath resident services? That could take a long time to find though, especially if you're looking for particular airport colors as well.

It's just random chance which one shows up. It could show up on your first try, it could take hours and hours. I'd at least give it a try and if it didn't show up right away would also give some of the other maps I encountered a look-see along the way.
