New Game

Well, very soon I will be getting the New 2DS XL and I am very excited about it. Sadly though it means I will be doing a system transfer from my 3DS, so my data on my New Leaf will be erased.

In a few days I will be setting up a little shop to sell my items and such, just to make sure they go to good homes instead of being lost to the void of data erasure.

On that note, the items i was currently using in my home will need to be sent to someone to hold til I get the new game started...I worked hard on my home and I would hate to lose all that work, so someone will be selected to hold my items for me at a later date.

I am also debating on keeping the data on my 3DS and just creating a new Nintendo ID for the 2DS and just start fresh on the new system...which kinda sounds nice...but IDK yet.

Any thoughts?

You can do a system transfer and still keep your ACNL town. Transferred my digital town from my old 3DS to my New 3DS. I just followed the instructions so everything moved.
I also bought a larger micro card for the NEW 3DS. I've read posts where players did the transfer with the micro card that came with the system. They lost there game. A micro card isn't equal to the SD card. I went with a 16 micro card to make sure my town moved.

If you want to have a town on each 3DS you can buy the WELCOME Amiibo ACNL game. Put it in your 3DS and open the game. Pick import and say yes. It will find your digital town and say yes. In a few minutes everything gets transferred to the cartridge. You can than use that cartridge in your NEW 2DS. The digital copy will still be on the 3DS so you can make a new town using it.

I used the WELCOME Amiibo ACNL cartridge to transfer a digital copy of my ACNL town. Later I did it with my release ACNL cartridge copy. Both digital and hard copies can be import to the new WELCOME Amiibo ACNL game. The only thing that will change is the showcase houses. All of those will be gone. All the other stuff stayed. Dream address will get changed when it gets moved to another system.

If you have a digital copy of the game, your ACNL data will transfer as well. If you have a physical copy on a cartridge, the data is saved on the cartridge, not the 3DS.
