I've reset a bunch of times and, yeah it sucks at first, but you have this forum as a resource for bells and items, plus you have some more experience and can lay out your town even better than before. Stick with it. 
I'm sure you'll come to love this new town as much or more than your previous one.

Ah, I have wanted to reset for a long time now 
just can't face losing everything I've collected and all of my villagers though. dont think i would ever be able to get into the same situation as I'm in now, having completed the museum and almost done the catalogue. Have loads of villager pictures...too much to transfer over. Stuck with my layout now well,good luck with yours though!
