So I have googled this but haven't found much in the way of answers! I recently bought Animal Crossing New Leaf Welcome Amiibo with my birthday/christmas money but just the other day my 2 month old New Pokemon 3DS XL limited edition console decided to have issues with not holding game cartridges and automatically ejects them out of my 3DS so am now having to sort out a replacement with the company I bought it from.

My question here is if I start playing animal crossing welcome amiibo on my old original 3DS will it save to the game cartridge as long as I avoid using amiibos for now? And will I then just be able to straight eject it into my new 3DS when I get the replacement sorted or am I better to just wait till I have my replacement before playing due to the fact of the save file??

thanks all

Physical cartridges save to the cart themselves, not the system. I know older copies of the game need to download the update to their system's SD card, but if you bought the WA version, that shouldn't be an issue. And even if it is, just installing any required update will fix that.

So in short, yes. You should be able to play the cartridge in any 3DS. I use three myself with zero problems.

Okay cool question was it with the welcome amiibo update that they no longer move onto paths or ones later after that?? Just so I know as I don't have WI FI currently at home so would have to go to a library to update before I can play anything and if that is the case I will probably just wait till my replacement 3DS is sorted!

Thanks

The Welcome Amiibo update is when they stopped moving on top of paths. But if you bought the Welcome Amiibo edition of New Leaf, then you already have the WA update on your actual cartridge.
