Neighbor theory

I believe there is a connection between who you talk to in the city and who moves into your town. I talked to Aurora the penguin every time I saw her and she moved to my town. I did the same with Nan and she just moved in too!
The animals who move in are pretty random, so I thought it was strange that the 2 animals I talked to all the time were the ones who came to my town.

Has anyone else noticed this?

i saw someone in the city who moved out of my town... he didn't act like he knew me. It would be more realistic if he did.

If you talk to someone from another persons town, yes!
In the city, not sure.
