I've acquired another copy of AC:NL and I have quite a few Amiibo cards as well, but I'm entirely unsure what I should do with this new town. I don't really have the patience to start another town, as my first one isn't anywhere near completed, and I need to get some TBT for furthering my first town. Maybe get some Hybrids and starters, as well as needing to put down pathes and such. The point is I have no idea what to do with this copy of AC:NL. I could start a cycling town I suppose but I have no need to with all the amiibos I have, and I really don't want to let it just sit there and collect dust if I could be using it to profit.
I have a few copies of the game floating around my house and I found making money off turnips is really easy with two towns. Use your second copy to time travel to find a high selling price then invite yourself over and sell your turnips. Then again that will only work if you have to consoles which I assumed you do as you put the possibility to cycle. Sorry for the long ass post hope this gave you some help on what to do with the town. )
Yeah it'd be helpful if you still need to finish any badges or your encyclopedia, you could TT and get everything you need, or you can TT and collect the sets that are harder to get and sell those.
Re-enforce what other posters have said - makes turnip selling a lot easier (if you get a reasonable hike!), You can have games in different seasons.
No issues on moving between towns set on different dates (incl for turnip selling, buy turnips in your town, spoil in 7 days, but within that time you can go to another town to sell, and that town can be on a past or future date to the town that bought the turnips).
The hardest thing for me has been weeding - a 2nd town - you could let the weeds grow for the items/badge.
I use mine for time travelling to get good turnip prices for my proper town and my friends, also to help people get their weeding badges. Also good for time travelling on it to do events that you have missed. You can store items too and make gold roses.
