Hi everybody,
I've been a member here for a while but I've been waiting to post anything since after redoing my town I've had to rebuild from the ground up. I've finally got the majority of my dream villagers and I've made a lot of progress with my town aesthetic and themes. Now I'm wanting to look at some towns for inspiration and to keep me on track with my goals! I usually just go to random dream towns (because I have no friends) but after weeks this is just leading me to disappointment and boredom lol.

Please leave a description of your town and current/dream villagers in addition to your town name/dream code so I can visit! I would love to see your aesthetic and offer you my comments and praise on your hard work! You can really tell how complex of a game ACNL really is when you look at the diversity and beauty of everyone's different towns.

Also, if you have the time or patience I would like any opinions or advice for my town as far as what I can improve or any particular ideas that come to mind when exploring it. It's a baby with much to do but I'm ready to actually share my dream code because I know everyone will have such great ideas after perusing the forums.

The name is derived from a cemetery I visited in Peru. I want it to have a sad, monochromatic vibe & I am still playing with the final theme(s). I am going for less organized and natural vibe while referencing various themes that appeal to me like the afterlife/Japanese/death/culture/space/magic/white/folk etc.
And here's a few screenshots to make this post less boring looking.

2nd screenie: My fav town I've seen, Honmei

Hi there! What kind of theme are you looking for? My DA is nowhere near ready yet as I've kinda started over myself, but I've checked out a fellow member's DA for similar inspiration. It didn't have a particular theme, but was very organized and visually attractive, quaint, but nothing over the top. His username is Hellfish, and his DA is 6F00-0035-DECF. I hope it's okay with him for me to share this lol. But that's the one I've visited most recently, and I can agree randomly visiting towns can be boring as a great number of them are them just starting out as well.

Good luck, and if you ever need anything for your town (gardening, items, etc), feel free to let me know. They're my treat for fellow mayors also starting up again.

Thank you for replying so quickly; I'm Jade

I will definitely check out his town as I am lacking organization desperately lol. Restaring from the bottom really does take a lot of work but being able to sell my old town helped tremendously! All the new features (new to me) are just delightful.

And thank you for your offer to help as well. I was curious how to buy clover or if there is a way to purchase it without letting it grow naturally. I don't need any, I'm just curious as I saw it in another thread. I'm about to take my town off the beautiful ordinance in preparation for weeding day and I'm not looking forward to all the watering hahah.

Also, I play in Spanish so some of my terminology might be off.

You're welcome, it's nice to meet you Jade!

I'm loving the new update as well, they've really given the game a face lift as we wait for the next game to arrive lol.

And as for selling clovers, there are different methods. The seller can simply lay them out for the buyer, but can be pretty tedious to pick them up with the "I found a lucky clover!" message popping up every time. So instead, a popular method is the seller wrapping them up first with wrapping paper.

Oh also, if you ever need it, here's a tile for clovers if you want to make it easier clover-wise c:

Thank you! You're an angel~ :lemon:

What can I call you? And feel free to let me know when your dream town is more progressed; I would love to see it when you're ready. Who is your favorite villager?

I'm just wondering how there's clover on the bridge in the second picture. O_o

Hacked?

I'm totally willing to do an opinion/idea trade off with you if you want~!
I made a thread like this last week and it didn't really get me anywhere so I'm glad someone else is doing this.

I desperately need a fresh view on my town,
its still very much a work in progress but I've finally finished the most difficult sections(ugh! plot resetting!),
now i'm just out of inspiration and ideas for the rest

So here's a quick view of my map for an idea of what I've worked on so far.
Lorien Before&After.jpg
My whole "theme" is really just chill, friendly, realistic college town
I have L?rien University and that area pretty situated,
the neighborhoods are fairly fleshed out since I've worked the hardest on those,
and the Campsite Area is a wip but I have ideas for that already.

Everything else is a big question mark so any input is much appreciated "^-^
Also excuse the patterns everywhere is was for the plot resetting and such.

I'll visit you tonight and get back to you in the next day or so~
I promise I'll take extensive notes!
Hopefully I can inspire you a bit as well, the parts that ARE done I'm very proud of, I took a lot of time planning them out. I like to be sleek and organized, but still homey and soft feeling!

Sure thing! It'll be a bit (work, and me being picky with ideas lol), but I'll for sure let you know! And you can call me Tiffany or Honey <3

I'm happy someone else is willing to do an opinion/idea trade! Your map looks excellent and your town is organized very well. I will also explore thoroughly: taking notes, etc. I like your theme and think there's a lot of potential there & I'm sure I'll derive some inspiration from you as well!

My town is lacking in organization but I do have a nice map. I mostly focus on visual arrangements/exhibits scattered throughout town but I have so much work ahead of me & I definitely need fresh ideas. Using the open space optimally is important to for the future. Another thing about me is that I really like to focus on interiors. I spend the majority of my time designing rooms in my house. My main and upstairs rooms are complete but the others are basically being used for storage atm. The creative process is fun and my villagers are lovely and spectacular!

My faves are Antonio and Muffy & I also have Gayle, Marshal, Diana, Tia, Julian, and Zell.
I dislike Penelope but I found out she was moving out yesterday (FINALLY) & as you will see she is plopped horribly in front of the town hall for the next few days.

I will get back to you soon with my thoughts and I love to take screenies so if you want I'll post some here or message them to you :lemon:
Thank you~!

Hey! My town is called Asphodel, and my Mayor is Fern. My town isn't complete yet but I'm currently making it into a forest town with lots of trees and lil paths. I don't have a lot in my town but I have a few nice areas, lots of flowers and most of my dreamies. Also, I'm pretty proud of the 2nd floor room in my mayors house, as it's filled with plants and modern wood furniture. I hope something in my town inspires you! My DA is 7E00-0011-4752 (:
Also sorry that I dont have any photos of my town!

I agree that you have your university area well situated and organized. I'm not sure the vibe you're going for but you could play around with some tree and bush placement to accentuate your paths, making them more defined in your favorite parts of your town. I prefer a more natural vibe so you can fill some empty space with your favorite PWP's.

The large, open space at the bottom of your map would make an excellent park (to match your university theme) with many benches and some lamps, etc. The flag you made for your town looks great. I like your character's outfit, too~!

:p

Let me know if you need any more specifics or want to ask anything else.

I'm traveling to Asphodel now~
I'm excited to see it! I love talking to the villagers, too.
I might be able to help you get some of your dreamies some day <3

Thanks for the feedback!
That big empty space behind the far north house is partially going to be a spa themed hot springs area since that house is going to be a Hotel/Spa/Restaurant very soon~ But I was thinking i could do playground somewhere, just need those pwp's to be requested already!

Anyways, I'm in your town currently so here's what I'm thinking..
I love it!
The theme is great, the paths are hecka cute, I love the flower fields everywhere(especially that one with the scarecrow by the big campsite)
I wish things were a little more connected, either with your own paths, dirt paths, or just plant lined walkways here and there to lead me around somewhat(more like your middle portion of town, near your house). I found it hard to get around without looking at the map.

The bottom right cliff(the nice squared of one) is perfect for the lighthouse pwp!
like it's honestly the most perfect spot I've ever seen for that PWP and I'll probably cry if you don't put it there eventually.

Because you have so much empty space and like the villagers you have I would say play around with giving them little unique yards of some sort. It would use up some of that extra space, plus you get to personalize beyond their interior!
Side yards with a small pwp ,backyards full of plants and surrounded by bushes/trees as the "fence"(sort of like zells yard, but a little bigger!), front yards with patterns and lights. Play off their personalities and stories you have for them like...Who enjoys gardening? give them a mini garden! you know?

The middle portion of your town is perfect and honestly just bring that out around the rest of town.
You have a HUGE beautiful map. I love your private beach(and normally I don't like split beaches but holy moly yours is great) so just keep doing what your doing!

Thank you for coming to visit; you're my first visitor! I will definitely apply all of your suggestions and I feel like it's going to look so much better in a month or so~! It was nice exchanging ideas with you.

Your idea for a hot springs area should fit perfectly so I look forward to seeing that in the future~!
:p

HI I just hoping in to say I visited your town. I was interested in the concept because it has a similar theme to my on town. It?s called Achrome ( as in no color....so monochromatic) And a lot of the theme is very gothic-y and creepy elegant. Anyways, both zell and Muffy are in my town, so I was glad to see them there :)
I really liked the sky you chose! Your main room is also very pretty! Great job!

Hello! My town is called Windvale, it's a calm forest town that does nothing but rain. I tried to give all my characters their own personalities as shown in their homes, and my town isn't perfect but I've worked really hard on it and I'm quite proud of it. I don't have photos of my town but the interiors of all my characters' houses are my pride and joy. My dream address is 7B00-0042-40A5, I'll give your town a visit now :)

Your town is really good! The parts that seem finished really do give off a cemetery vibe and I really liked the sky and interior of your house, however my only piece of advice would be to line paths more maybe? With trees or bushes or flowers, just so the town doesn't look as empty perhaps? Unless that's what you were going for, then good job! :) excited to see the final product!

Thank you for your kind words; it means so much to me that you saw my town! I was starting to feel invisible because I didn't have any visitors for so long & now the work has really just started since I've "put myself out there." There's so much to do & thank you for your input I searched for town but couldn't find it but I hope to see it some day. It's always nice to find someone with similar tastes
Muffy is my bby & I can't seem to let Zell go no matter how hard I may try <3
Most of my villagers have a white and black color scheme but I'm attached to Gayle after she moved in as well.

I haven’t finished the town just yet, but I’m very close to it. I want to hopefully have it up sometime this month. Here’s a small preview of one of my houses though http://www.belltreeforums.com/showt...ink-of-my-Mayor-s-house&p=7766322#post7766322 :)

Thank you for visiting Apacheta
I have a lot of abstract ideas I'm playing with but I can definitely update you when I realize it's full potential.

I loved exploring your town; I love rain/night/dusk towns and as you said, your villagers really stand out to me due to their unique dispositions & genuine energy. Sheep are my favorite ACNL species despite Apacheta's rabbit on the moon Japanese inspired theme. Great job with your town and keep up the good work!

I had trouble walking around and finding my way but I think you are employing some blocking technique I have not tried before. My favorite parts are the mushroom faerie circles~! I can't wait to save up enough mushrooms to do my own lol

I got a screenshot in your town wearing the outfit you left:
