so merry the cat moved in today, which is great but... she moved in right behind my town hall and DIRECTLY where I was going to put my orchard... I was going to plot reset but made the idiot mistake of loading my mayor... so is there a way I can get merry to move out and then move back in, so I can plot reset? I was thinking if someone fostered her and then got her to move out into my town, but is that even possible? :(

You can move her out, but you'll only be able to move her back in once 16 other villagers have moved out. :(

If I got someone to hold her for me and I move out 16 villagers, could I adopt her back?

Yes, although I'm fairly sure she wouldn't remember you (someone else should confirm that, though). The purpose of the 16 villager cycle is to wipe a character from your game's memory. I'm guessing Merry would only "remember" the last town she lived in -- which, at that point, wouldn't be yours.

Oh merry, you adorable troublemaker :(

her house position is going to bother me for the rest of my gaming life.... nothin much I can do I guess..

If you get somebody to hold merry for you, she will be the same villager as the one who left your town. Not sure how far back their memory goes but there was a reliable thread quite a while back talking about how they remember the last town they came from at least.

Can also remember when ed moves from my void to my friends town, I went to visit that town and get signatures, Ed remembered me.

If it's going to drive you mad, I'd say move her out and do the cycle

The 16 villager cycle is a lot of trouble for such a minor thing. Don't you have other dreamies you'd lose?

Yea, I have 80% of my dreamies that I dont wanna lose, so it would take weeks if not months for the me to cycle...

Tipper is moving out, im going to try and get marshal next, I may have to cycle 1 villager at a time if I dont wanna lose my dreamies :/

for future reference, when you load your mayor turn off your 3ds as soon as possible. you'll probably be fine.

Since the 16 villager cycle is a huge hassle, maybe you can find a way to make Merry?s spot work? You could plant the orchard around her house and she could live in the woods and enjoy nature.

Plus, her house wouldn?t look too bad in a forest. With the wooden exterior, it fits in.

But if you don?t like that idea, either do the 16 villager cycle or move her out and get another villager you like.

Ive been trying to work around it, but its hard to put an orchard around her house when shes directly 2 steps away from the towns mountain wall..
