Need help for this dumb situation!

So, I recently got a villager to move out, and realized that I had time travelled a month and a half ahead of time. So I TTed back to its original date, and played two normal days. I started up the game today and noticed that my mailbox was going crazy. So I went to the post office thinking I can save 2/3 letters, but every time I press the "save mail" option, i get a notice saying, "Unable to read game data. Your game will exit now", the speech bubble coloured in red. But that's not it! It brings me back to the main menu, that says, "The save data is corrupted and will be deleted." From then on, I just keep turning off my 3DS. Luckily, my game doesn't get deleted, but I've heard on other numerous occasions that it can happen randomly. How do I remove/prevent this from getting worse? It feels weird knowing that I'm playing a partially corrupted game cartridge.

Oh dear. I'm afraid the only option is to delete the saved game and hope it doesn't happen again. I think you'll be unable to continue the saved game until you delete it, since it's corrupted unfortunately. Which will make the data unplayable, atleast I think so. Also correct me if I'm wrong but I think the same message will keep popping up saying it's corrupted? I'm sorry about what happened to your game though. But it doesn't mean the entirety of the game is corrupted just that file.

This is odd, I just tried manually saving and it worked fine! I'm assuming it only happens when there's an auto-save, like choosing which mail to save, or at 6AM. Not entirely sure though :3

Probably, although i'm not sure maybe i'm not the right person to talk about that with haha. I'm sure somebody more experienced will be able to help a little more than me though. It's just what i've heard from a thread on corrupted acnl files that I read recently.

Did his/her game fully corrupt? Like, did she have to restart? D:

I believe so, when the dialog popped up saying the game was corrupted they chose to delete it and then afterwards I believe they have no other incidents of corrupting. Although it doesn't work for everyone though so i'd keep that in mind.

I see. So far, it hasn't been popping up unless I try to save mail (haven't tried the auto-save at 6AM). Guess i got somewhat a little lucky, lol.

If possible, can we see pics of what you're seeing on your game? It might help a little bit.

Time traveling shouldn't have any effect on your game, as the ability to change the time and date is a game feature (I think you even get badges for it but I'm not sure). Is there anything else you've done that may have caused it?
