Need help confirming: How often do villagers work at DIY?

Hi guys! This is one of those things I’ve noticed but haven’t been able to nail down yet.

Villagers change up who’s working at their work bench / who’s giving away a recipe. I originally thought it was one villager in the AM and one in the PM, but it definitely seems to happen more often. I’ve noticed them working for around 2-3 hours at a time, but can’t figure out whether saving or time lapses or specific hours influence it!

So, I was wondering if anyone else had noticed this phenomenon? What times do they swap? How long are they there?

I’ve been studying this a lot! It seems to be three recipes a day starting from when you get on the first time (after 5 am) and then switches every 3 hours.

I have had one occasion where during the 3rd crafting period no one was working but one of my villagers had another villager over in their house so it’s possible they are technically villager house “events” or something with a high chance of being a recipe.

seems to be 3x per day! once in the morning, afternoon and evening.
