Need advice on starting fresh

Well I've been considering starting fresh in a new town but my only problems are the ones below:

-I have one of my dream villagers and I'd probably never get him again

-My town has been fully developed for 2-3 years and I have a sentimental connection to it

-I have a lot of items I don't want to lose (Rare clothing items I've spent a lot of TBT on)

-There's a part of me that will really miss the town I made.


If anyone knows how to avert these problems I'd really appreciate if you told me!

Why are you considering to start fresh if you have to deal with everything you've listed?

You could purchase a second cartridge and play on a new town while keeping your old one.

Well, from what it seems like, you probably shouldn't reset your town if you're that attached to it. That being said, there are some things you can do if you do reset your town:

1. You can get an amiibo card of the dreamie you have currently that way you can get him/her back, although they won't remember you or anything.

2. If you do restart your game, you can sell your town for a loooot (millions) of bells which would make it easier for you to start getting those items back.

The sentimentality of your town is ultimately up to you to decide if it's worth starting fresh. Maybe buy another copy of the game?

That's not a bad idea actually, isn't there a cheap version of the game now?

I got mine brand new for 20 dollars like two and a half months ago and you could probably find a pre-owned cartridge for even cheaper if that is what you need. Good luck

Alright thanks for the suggestions, I may try and find the card and get it by Christmas and then ask my friend to hold onto my rarer items and then I think I could do it (And I'm aware of the money things, that's another incentive to wanting to restart)

Buying a second cartridge was the best decision i made! I also wanted to start again but I made my town on Christmas Day 2014. I'd get another one if i were you!

if you do decide to reset, getting your dream villager probably won't be that difficult as there are people with amiibo cards constantly selling villagers for 30-50 tbt now in the trading plaza. also when you sell your town, you get to keep your catalog, so you may be able to re order some of your items (although not anything that can't be reordered, so probably not your rarer stuff...)

but having a second cart is fun and i definitely recommend it!

I think I would rather buy a new AC:NL game instead of losing it all. That my suggestion.

second cartridges are the way to go! New copies go for $20 now, and used copies even less I prefer used copies because sometimes there's still a town on there and you can raid their stuff lol
