Currently, I'm teaching myself C++, and I've got the basics down pretty well. The only thing I'm worried about, though, is forgetting them. To try to prevent this, I have decided to start a little project. What is this little project going to be? It's going to be a text adventure, called "Mystery Files: The Missing Hardcore Games."
What is it about? It's going to center around E3 2008's letdowns and lead up to E3 2009. Obviously, writing a plot that is going to have events occur in between that year-long span is going to take awhile. Not only do I have to have that, but I've got to write the necessary code to make this happen. Again, that's going to take awhile.
So, to try and speed things up, here's my offer to those that are interested:
If you are a person who is experienced in computer programming (preferably in the C++ language), I am asking for your help in writing this program. Obviously, the code is going to be messy, so I will also need your help to clean up the code and help me find ways to implement code in an easier way.
EDIT:
I will report on how things are going frequently in here. Below is the status of the project.
Planned Release: Mid-October/Early November
Build #: Build 39 (This is determined by counting up the # of lines of code in the editor.)
Feature(s) To Be Added:
- Save Feature (I don't have a clue as to how to implement this. I will figure it out.)
- And any others as I think of them.
