is it plugged in? does a red light appear next to the power button. you might have to turn it on by hand not remote

where they correct? make sure this is the following
red-red colored port and/or labed audio R
yellow-yellowed color port and/or labed video
white-white colored port and/or labed audio
S-video (if needed) labeled S-vide
other - consult manual

check that TV is on and is on right channel. some tv's have several AUX jacks and channels, while some rely on VCR/DVD players
