My thoughts on the Nikolympics

Well I personally think this would solve the whole problem. The rules for brawl should be just no items and that is it. And for MKW just not repeats of courses. And for Pokemon a standard battle using smogon tiers.

Plus luck doesn't really matter, MKW is mostly based on luck one red shell, mushroom, star, blue shell, or bullet bill and you could be screwed, and same with brawl items.
Agreed, i think one MKWii round, shouldn't have any items, sadly, I don't think you can turn it off x.x but Brawl items should be removed.

In smash bros. 64 i'd be blue mario vs. green mario in a beam sword fight, the way Mario jumps in SSB reminds me of Jedi.

If it was based on skill I would have 3 gold stars in every gp, even mirror, something always goes wrong, like some guy in 8th place firing a blue shell or the cpu behind me getting red shells.

lol, i've done that sometimes, in this case, on a slow day, i had Wolf and Fox on Norfair, or Mario vs. Luigi, (Anakin vs. Obi in Mustafar :P)

but banning characters? I could sort of see why they banned it...
if your meaning like, ban certain chararcters, that should not happen, because each player is equal, its just how you use them

Smogon tiers? No items? No repeats of courses?

Smogon basically orders you how to play the game.
Use this moveset on this Pokemon blah blah blah...
It's like you bought the game for Smogon and not for yourself.

Items bring the random factor in the game which improves it because you never know what you'll get.

So it's bad in Mario Kart but good in Brawl? Let the player choose what he/she wants to play. If the player picks the same course/stage over and over again, it just means that you get more practice in learning the tricks in the course/stage. This, of course, is my opinion.

If you're actually having a contest, there are good reasons to ban certain things...

Just because it's in the game doesn't mean it's fair.
That's true, items aren't allowed in smash bros because they many are overpowered. When it comes to banning Mario kart things I would say ban some courses, Luigi circuit is 90% luck.

Well Mega is just showing his feeling for Kyorge even though it is uber which is over powered.
Take a well trained Jolteon, bang.
Jolteon doesn't stand a chance against a Kyogre.

Lol. You obviously know nothing about competitive battling.

Wow, I come and see this. Well, I don't run the Nikolympics anymore. Thaier does. So go complain at him. <_<
