I am assuming that due to some (mild) TT (I usually go ahead a day or two and come back when completing PWP, etc.), my 'T&T Emporium' opened up today! Not sure if this is a spoiler or not, there's nothing new to read here - just sharing my thoughts.
The 'T&T Emporium' is a huge upgrade! I like that the first floor has the tools, KK Singles (two per day), specialty items (fortune cookies, etc.) and Leif has a little gardening corner. The second floor displays all interior items (furniture, etc.), and the 3rd floor, as well as know, is the exquisite Gracie shop where most items cost over 100k bells! The lighting and layout of her floor is very chic and nicely done. I love the revolving door and of course, the better selection of items throughout.
A few little things that annoy me about T&T Emporium:
The exterior of the building is a bit garish and carnival-like. It should have been designed as a high-end big city store, like a brown-stone faced Saks & Company or Harrods with black and white or green striped awnings. I hope the draped banners on the top story disappear as the weeks go on (no longer indicating that it?s a new store). There is also something off with the over-sized lights strung on the building. Can?t quite place it.
The interior music on the first and second floor is irritating and not what you?d expect to hear in a higher-end department store. It?s reminds me of some Yankee Doodle Dandy type tune. Hate it. I hope it changes. The music on Gracie?s floor is perfect and fits the mood.
The word ?Emporium? isn?t very chic and is not often used to describe department stores (even though that is the direct meaning/translation of the word). At least not in my neck of the woods. To me, ?Emporium? is associated with a large and departmentalized grocery store or ?CostCo? or ?Price Club? type place. Or something low-end. They should have used the same name as in WW ? ?Nookingtons? or something similar, like ?Nookingdale?s.
Regardless of the slight annoyances, I am loving this final store upgrade! And, I've already spent close to 1M bells on the top floor! My pockets are filled with Gracie items (furniture) in her exclusive wrapping!
