My scamming experience today

So today I got Club Tortimer and decided to go online with some randomers at the island, all the people I met were really nice, then there was this one girl who was being nice to me then asked if we wanted to do a trade. She said to me "Can I have your eye patch for 99k?" (not her exact words but same amount) Of course this wasn't legit, looking back but at the time I was like "Hell yes!" So when I told her I agreed to the trade she said she was going to get the bells out of her in game bank account and when she came back I dropped my eye patch on the floor, she dropped her bells and quickly got my eye patch, but was somehow blocking me from picking up the bells, then she picked back up her bells.

Quickly she ran off to get the boat back home, I followed her inside and saw what she was doing and quickly opened up her profile so the message saying "Please close your menu" or whatever kept recurring and she couldn't leave. Eventually she got sick of it and said she would carry out the full trade, so we went back outside and she dropped 100 bells and ran back in. I knew she was trying to go back home so I reopened her profile so the message would pop back up and she couldn't leave. She then said "you think ur clever" and went to go on a tour so my trick to stop her leaving didn't work anymore. I turned my DS off before the tour could start. Lol.
At first I was like "Damn I lost all my progress today" but remember it auto saves on the way to the island so I was happy

Tbh, I wasn't that bothered if she ran off with my eyepatch cause they're not expensive and I could just re order it, but I just didn't want her to get away with trying to scam.

I think she was called Alliah or something similar to that and she's from England, keep an eye out if someone who is similar tothis is in the island with you and be careful if they offer a trade

It's sad how many stories of scamming I hear on Club Tortimer. I wish people would just be nice ; v ;

It's a shame people try to do these sort of things but I'm glad she didn't get away with it . I never had a problem on club Tortimer until I went a few weeks back and this guy turned up after me, he tried to trap me on the island and demand bells but I just flicked the wi fi switch. Haven't been back there much since as I now have all the island items.

Whenever I wear my crown to Club Tortimer, I get a lot of people asking if they can have it, but being too paranoid of getting scammed I either leave or flip off the wifi switch to avoid it. >.<

See and I want to go to CT because I want the items, but I'm really tempted to just buy them from someone because of all the stories I've heard of people's experiences with it.

It's a shame how you often hear similar stories about this with Club Tortimer.
When I first got ACNL, I met a lot of awesome people from Club Tortimer from the start. ; n ;

I think Nintendo needs to remove Club Tortimer next game. Kids on CT have caused too much trouble. If Swapnote was suspended, why can't CT be removed?

Swapnote was because older dudes showing their wangs to little girls.

Eck, I know right. But it always left me thinking about how Nintendo stalks the messages we send to each other. I found that a bit creepy. Or was there a report option that let them see the pedo messages?

I don't know, but I hope there was a report option. I got my 2ds about 2 months after it was suspended for good.

It's sad hearing all of these stories of people getting scammed. That's why I don't even bother trading with people on there. It's too risky, even if there are nice people out there!

I just go to the club to search for items. x3 I've never had a really bad experience yet thankfully!

No to getting rid of CT. Nintendo should fix the problems of trolls and scammers. If you buy something from there it should get saved. I lost a lot of times from people hitting the wifi or trying to keep you there. The CT island needs to be bigger. Just like the tour one is. 4 people on one island is too many if everyone is trying to get bugs. I don't collect bugs except for the tree ones on the grass.

Don't give up on CT. It will quiet down after the holidays. Found the international island this time of year are better. I've met some lovely people from Japan, Korean, Germany and France. All invited me to tour and we had a blast.
A Canadian from my area was on the international island when I arrived. Person was cutting all the trees and wouldn't let me go. It was disappointing and I blocked the person.
I block the person and than tell them I did it. One less troll to deal with.
