So I bought X, and I decided to do a little post-review here on the forums so you can all know what my opinion is.

Well, I like the graphics, but I think they went a little overboard on them. I mean, it's just not the same as the old pokemon games. I didn't even get the first badge and I'm starting to feel a little uncomfortable playing the game altogether. The way the player moves him/herself is kind of buggy, like a glitchy feeling because the turns aren't so sharp and are constantly late.

The battles take too long, especially when the trainers throw out their pokemon. Now don't think this thread is basically pulling out my negative opinions on X and Y, I'm not going to criticize the game itself and I'm going to point out some positive features I noticed as well.

Now some of the Pokemon look cool, while I kind of have the feeling they are running out of ideas. Most of the pokemon that were made on X and Y are basically animals but in a reversed version, they have to bring back the effort and quality in pokemon like they did in Johto regions. You know?

I like the music for a lot of places and it's kind of catchy if you ask me, some of them are too joy-like while some are just plain.

Hmm, when I finish the game I will edit this post to talk about my after-game review.

Thanks for reading!

i dont rly care for the music
i dont feel like theyre running out of ideas. first gen pokemon arent very creative themselves and i feel like they're getting more creative along the way.

i dont really feel like the battles take too long and i like how the character moves so
i love that there are more like. characters. like all your friends adventuring with you is cute

I think it's a control system that you need to get used to using, like the Kid Icarus: Uprising one. You say the graphics are a little overboard, but after Gen V full 3D was the only way to improve on them really. Also the tiny details are the best, such as slightly personalised move and fainting actions (example: Zigzagoon runs in a bit of a zig-zag before using Tackle, whilst Fletchling flies towards the opponent).

I agree with Suave_Spencer. The movement does take some getting used to, and feels a bit odd at first. If you don't like using the circle pad, try using the arrows.

I haven't personally noticed a glitchy feeling in my character's movement, but I have noticed that she walks so AWKWARDLY. Like, I don't know, it's sort of like she waddles? Like she's a baby that's just learned how to walk. xD I guess they were going for maximum cuteness with the female character's walk, but I think they went a little overboard.

I haven't played a Pokemon game since gen IV, so this all seems very new and shiny to me. If the 3D graphics made it a little clunky, I wouldn't blame Game Freak. They'll work out all the kinks by the next release, I'm sure.

Oh for the love of.

You mean like Aipom (monkey), Shuckle (turtle), Snubbull, Granbull, Houndoor, Houndoom (dogs), Sudowoodo (tree), Totodile, Croconaw, and Feraligatr (alligator), Phanpy and Donphan (elephant), Furret (ferret), Piloswine (wooly mammoth), Yanma (dragonfly), Politoed (frog), Hoothoot and Noctowl (owls), Ledyba and Ledian (ladybugs) Octillery (octopus), Lanturn (anglerfish), Mareep, Flaafy, Ampharos (sheep), Gligar and Crobat (bat), Heracross (beetle), Teddiursa and Ursaring (bears), Spinarak and Ampharos (spiders), Kingdra (sea horse), Delibird (chicken), Murkrow (crow), Slugma (slug), Miltank (cow), Stantler (deer), Mantine (manta ray), Remoraid (remora), Qwilfish (pufferfish), Girafarig (giraffe), Magcargo (snail)? 42 Pokemon based off of animals from Gen 2, which is about a third of what was introduced. Yeah, they're running out of ideas now.

I agree, the music is pretty good. I wish I could take off the stupid roller skates. It's hard to move in them.

I totally agree with everything you guys have been saying! On a seperate note I'm finding it difficult to get a team trained. Nintendo has made you pretty much get three pokemon right off the bat (gen VI starter, gen I starter, and torchic if you want a sweet mega blaziken). Then I wanted Pancham so I got him and now the trained has been so difficult that all my pokemon's levels are falling behind where they are supposed to be. Not to mention the lack of new pokemon. About 2/3rds of the pokemon you find in the wild are pokemon used in previous games... Just my opinion though.

You are right about the lack of pokemon. A quick look through the xy pokedex on serebii reveals a distinct lack of them. Mostly old pokemon, with new mega evolutions.

When I started, I didn't like how my character walked. I think I was used to move my Animal Crossing character. Now I'm used to it, but I usually use roller skates because I don't like to use the arrows. Which means most of the time I'm like: out of my way! I can't control myself!

My only negative comment is how difficult the gameplay can be. See, normally in Pokemon games they tell you where to go. However, in X and Y, it can be difficult to know where to go. Especially in Lumiose before the power comes back on.

I am pretty satisfied with the game. I liked it far better than Black and White (1 & 2). If I could make one change it would be to take off the stupid roller skates. I HATE those things. On the plus side, I love the Pokemon Amiee thing where you take care of your Pokemon. I do agree with the ones who said almost all the Pokemon in the wild are from past games, which I don't like that much.
