I'm terrible with describing this method, so if you have any questions just post them on the thread and I'll be sure to answer them. Screencaps are here for helping.

So, pattern placing. It's a complete and utter pain. We stand right in front of where we want the pattern and it goes one space behind us to the left. Well, I think I found a method that can really help lessen the hell that we go through when making our town's beautiful. All you need is a shovel.

First, dig holes around the OUTSIDE of where your pattern is going to be placed, like so:

Now, you could just do a few holes at first, but when you try placing the patterns, they could get stubborn and do something stupid like this:

Next, stand as close to the holes as you can and make sure you're standing as straight as you can. Having your character turned towards the left or right will mess up the placement for you. Now, since you're standing straight and you have these holes in front of you taking up space, there's only two other rows left for your patterns to go.

And if you're standing right up against the holes, and standing straight, then you can place down three tiles of your path right up against the holes without any issue.

The best part? Now, you can place the last 3 tiles up at the top and not have to worry about them going anywhere else other than where YOU want them to. The holes in front of you take up the first row of your 3x3 space, your pattern placement takes up the second row, so the only place left for the patterns to go is directly behind you.

Obviously, this works best for 2x2 patterns, but if you add more holes above where you want a third pattern row to go, you can still work with this method! I know this explanation is a bit off, so I'll do my best to explain further if anyone needs it. I also don't know if this is common knowledge in the community, but either way I wanted to share it.

Happy patterning!

I remember you saying this yesterday and I passed it on to someone else~ Really is solid advice. I've been using it for my newer paths since all my flowers are situated.

Good method!
Actually, ive seen this method before from a spanish female youtuber, and ive seen on tumblr and on the same youtuber they cut all the trees and then make his work
I think this can work also on 3 patterns paths or even 4!
I think u need help from some friend through to make it easier

I haven't used paths much, but for me they generally went on the same tile I was standing on rather then directly in front...

Also this is kind of off-topic but I really really really love those paths, could I please have the QR Code?

I've never really had difficulty with placing patterns as I've kind of memorized where patterns end up based on where you're standing. I think that digging holes or placing something around to border paths is a bit cumbersome personally though ><, but if it can help someone, then all the better ^^.

Ooh, that is a very different color from how it looks at night.
Well, it's still adorable, thank you so much!
