My Game Did Something Weird

I went to pay off my loan and then payed it off and talked to Nook. However, he instantly said that my house would be upgraded without letting me choose. I time traveled a day forward and my house stayed the same. When I talked to Nook, he said, "Your home loan is 0 Bells." And then I talked to him and he let me expand. That's pretty weird, isn't it?
