I have a wonderful town layout concerning the main buildings and my yellow mayor house. But the bottom island is pretty awful. Many villagers used to live there and I'm trying to get new move-in's to go there too. But that's pretty much all I do with the island. I didn't even put a path there due to it being so small.

I could use some advice on what to do with the bottom island. I'm thinking of re-locating bridges.

If you get the Lighthouse or Windmill requested, you could place them down along the cliff overlooking the beach or water. Just south of the campsite, you could make it a park or playground area. Then, of course, you could just use the wide open spaces for fruit trees. The right bridge seems OK getting from the dock to Re-tail. The left bridge seems OK also, getting from one beach to the other. Maybe the middle bridge could be angled at the lower bend of the river, but I don't have any angled bridges in my town, so I don't know if the river is maybe too wide there.
All-in-all, I like your map.

Nah no angles. I try to use as many straight lines as possible.

I'm thinking I might have to make some villagers move out in order to straighten out the area. The left bridge could be moved, but than Ankha would have to disappear which is no option at all. The ridge on the right could me switched to line up with the middle one and connect to the camp site.

Well, let's see. I would relocate the middle bridge; preferably to a vertical one above the campsite, but if you have paths, then that could be too cluttered there because of the cafe. If it's not an option, I'd make it a vertical one to the right of the river pond.

As for what I'd do with the island...I think you have quite the nice layout there. You have those two dents of land (one under the second house from the left and one straight under the campsite) and I think the area under the campsite is perfect for some great landscaping - maybe for a park or a plaza or a bush maze.

The fact that it's so narrow is kind of problematic, but I've seen a lot of nice towns now which had really pretty paths - they were around 3-4 patterns wide and had trees every other step lining them and that was really pretty even without much other stuff. Granted, that second house from the left is totally in the way, but...

Something I had in my old town was a huge red/orange/yellow flowered camping ground, which you could have spilling out into the long bit infront of your campsite. Plenty of good PWP for it too!

For a park, should I use double pattern or a single pattern for it's width?

I've seen nice paths offering both; a one-pattern wide version and a two-pattern one. You could make a main path two patterns wide and smaller ones only one pattern wide that lead to benches/PWPs/connect parallel main paths?
